Coffee, tobacco and alcohol kills much more people. Let's publish horror stories telling that every day.
Something like "15yr promising school boy died after whiskey overdose, the bottle was bought with US dollars!"

Breaking news: Someone dies from drugs!!!

Why is this surprising at all, and why would this be any different from anyone else who dies from drugs?

To be fair, news is almost by definition things that don't happen everyday.  Do you honestly sit around reading articles all day about everyone who died from mundane causes? No, nobody does.

"Patrick McMullen, who had hoped to study computing at Cambridge University, was boasting about the high kicking in from taking half a gram of ecstasy and three LSD tabs when he suddenly keeled over."

When you take such high doses, IMHO you're begging to die. No, I'm not defending drugs. They can harm you. But so can sugar in high doses too. If you use recommended dosages like 120mg MDMA(ecstasy) which is the current volume on the dosage for patients that tries this out in a controlled situation with a doctor for research, it probably won't hurt you much. And no, I'm not recommending anyone to use it.

i don't get it, if this kid is so smart.. how could he take a lethal dose of drugs without doing his research beforehand? all it takes is a quick google of "what is a lethal dose of mdma" .. took me literally 15 seconds to find out that 500+ mg is considered lethal.

btw, what if he did this to impress a girl? we should just ban all girls from being under 18. that would solve the problem..

it's hard to have a position on whether drugs should be legal or illegal.. all i know is that the media probably wouldn't sensationalize it when a minor dies from drunk driving or an OD... but alcohol still kills people, and more than MDMA. so in that case, should we ban alcohol as well? it is a drug after all.

A half gram really shouldn't have killed him, I've met people that have done a gram throughout a night.

But lets be honest, what a way to go out?  Talk about a super candyflip, .5 of molly and 3 tabs of acid, you're practically already dead (ego wise).  Have fun in heaven dawg, see you soon.

it probably depends on how much tolerance the user has. the people who have done half a gram per night.. how much were they doing it before?

i don't think there's any "safe way" to commit suicide  Cheesy

i myself wouldn't know. i don't believe in suicide... that would just be giving up. yeah, most times i think to myself "i don't want to live anymore," but it doesn't mean im even ready or willing to commit suicide.

i think what OP meant to pass on to us is that despite negative media coverage that bitcoin had previously, its not there anymore. if media was against the currency they would definitely use this opportunity to slag bitcoin off by emptying a poo bucket all over the name - they chose not to.

what? Silk Road is mentioned in the title of the article.. you know, it's tying this kid's death to the silk road. and silk road uses bitcoin.. it's negative press for BTC.
