Electrum stucked on synchronizing - unexperienced user

Hi dear people,

electrum 1.7.2 is stucked on synchronizing.
Restarting the application or the computer will not help.

I know there is an update 1.9.4 but I can't find any "update" menu.
Is it the problem anyway?

Please, if you give me advice, consider that I'm quite an older lady with not much experience!

You can download the latest version from http://electrum.org you can install it right away as your important files (wallets) are kept in a hidden directory in the user folder.

If you are still having problems update this post.

Thanks, the "old" software is working again, I don't know why.
So I have no special need to actualize it for now, unless a really important function will be created :-)
