New to the forum but been reading up on Bitcoin

Hey all Bitcoin Newbie here.  I've been watching the stats since it was at 200.  I've been searching this forum and all over the web to see if there are places where you can buy portions of bitcoin.  The only ones I've found are sell WHOLE bitcoins but I just want to buy a fraction. 

Also after days of searching the only sites that I can find that give out bitcoins for stuff is BitcoinGet.com, Cointube.com, and Bitvisitor.com.  Bitvisitor has a threshold but its possible to reach in a day where as the other sites have an impossible threshold.  After 3 days of filling out stuff and watching vids I have 0.0034284 BTC in my wallet, which is like $1.14.  Ideally I would like to purchase 0.5 BTC but don't know where to do this.   

So this is kind of like a Hey and where's the nearest restroom kinda thing:)

for small portions I think a lot of people use https://localbitcoins.com/ be wary though you are trading with lots of people rather than a single established company so take steps to make sure you can trust them like using an escrow etc.

If you are in the USA Coinbase is a good choice.

I was thinking about signing up for coinbase if I do I'll def use your refferral link.  I do a little affiliate marketing here and there, and if your giving me something that I might use anyway, I have no prob signing up through your link and giving you credit.  Its like a free way for me to tip or donate to you so why wouldn't I.   If I do Ill let ya know, and thanks for the answer.

I don't know of any site which DOESN'T allow purchasing fractional Bitcoins.   Can you name one?

Sorry but sites like Mt. Gox it doesn't tell you if there is that option and I looked on a local trading site, and it only listed prices of whole bitcoins.   And like I said I'm new so I figured if someone was on those sites they could just say "Hey all those sites offer smaller shares too".

Coinbase is probably the fastest and easiest way to buy them. Welcome to the wonderful world of Bitcoin!

It is simply the price.    If potatoes are $2 per pound it doesn't mean you can't buy 1/4 pound of potatoes.
If Bitcoins are $400 ea it doesn't mean you can't buy 0.1 BTC.

Like I said I don't know a single site which requires you to buy only in increments of one whole Bitcoin.
