Well, searching for reliable altcoins that can bring great profit, I follow next steps:
1) Read the whitepaper. The more details it has, the better!
2) Learn whether the project represents only an abstract idea without any groundwork or has a beta-version of the future product. The second point guarantees that the team won't stop developing their project as they have already made great efforts.
3) The team is also very important. If a project has an experienced team, the results will be amazing!
4) The last but not the least, the project must have a very specific and unique idea!
Great idea rules! Grin

More than 90 % altcoin are scam. So be very careful. Do you know how to find a good altcoin?
Dont go to far because for sure many of those advisers here are misleading,so better invest in the top ten or twenty coins..it depend on what investment you wanted if its long term or trading, but for holding the best coins are those slow moving coins, and for daytrading are those fast moving, that simple but credible

Invest in project you believe in. Projects which will touch and change lives and therefore the world. Most Altcoins out there are trying to solve problems which does not matter to the masses. So look for Altcoins that solve real world problems, after all we live in a real world

I myself see an altcoin project through the prospect of his team and their outstanding advertising news,
because the really good ones are very rare we find now.

I agree with you, actually investing in cryptocurrencies and other Initial Coin Offerings / ICO's is highly risky and speculative. Each individual's situation is unique and has own standard to review altcoins. The white paper should be comprehensive, expertise and experienced team in the industry, excellent sign cryptocurrency is to be listed on an exchange ( FIAT exchange would be great) and a crucial indicator is a community, good project always update their project on their social media. Not any guarantee for good altcoins so beware on your investment.

Absolutely the most important thing could be fined, if altcoin are good is proper knowledge about it, from some specific detail of one altcoin would you like to bet, aside from that the basic concept of research about altcoin will really help you to identify and familiar the real value of its altcoin if your coin are good or shitcoin. Because we know that almost 90% of them are scam and definitely have no future both of them,,so that gainers are normally check and look if coin have significant volume based  on profit percentage.

It takes a lot of knowledge and diligence to find out about Altcoin. If you can not do it. It is best to choose the top 20 coins at CMC. These are the really good and most rewarding coins that do not need to scare scammers

I suggest firstly looking into the team that is the back bone of any project. Then see how far they whent in their promises and work that tells a lot about the projects future succes and the propobility of not failing. Most ICO's have a great idea but it's rare that they make it happen. It's really good to ask other people for their opinion on the project you might learn some thing new every time. I found a project called lympo and I am sure it's a winner and would like your input on it Smiley

It is hard to find good altcoins in these days where 20 new ICOs a popping up out of the nowhere. It is always good to have some trusted people behind the project with some good knowledge about crypto.

In order to find a good altcoin, you have to practice your due diligence. You should take the time and research properly and thoroughly every potential prospect you have.
The choice of choosing a good altcoin will be entirely subjective, depending upon each person's tastes and financial acquisitions. What is good for the goose, isn't necessarily good for the gander!
In order to help you make the best decision that you can make, according to your own tastes and acquisition, you must take the time and evaluate your stance on investing, your budget as well. What is your goal for investment, is it for long term, or short term gains, etc.

Find and Research ICOs

It was shocking to find out how many ICOs were happening almost simultaneously. How do you pick which token to buy? Even if you can analyze a white paper that goes with each ICO, how do you decide what white papers to read? You can’t possibly read all of them.
Below is a list of questions that will help you:

Basic Concept

Can you understand the value of the token at least in theory?
Is it easy to explain and understand?

Team

Who is the behind the company?
Does the team consist of real people?
    What are their backgrounds?
    Where are they located?

Interest or Hype

What is their hype rating on ICO Drops?
How many people do they have in their Telegram channel and other social media channels?

The first step for me to find a good altcoin is to check the cryptocurrency website to assess the most promising coins. In terms of checking their potential to be adopted as our preferred coin, this method can be used to estimate the intrinsic value of each coin, once it reaches the level adoption, using the quantity theory of money. Next look at supply versus and maximum supply. The crypto tends to increase with increasing demand, because fewer coins are in supply, chances are the price will also increase.

Finding a good altcoin is not an easy task because most of them are not reliable, it's a mix of guess and luck
