They say that day trading is a skill, so practicing should make you good at it right? How long someone from newbie to advanced should spend to be considered good?

In my opinion this is depend on the your effort and psycology when learn to be expert trader. The most important thing to become pro trader is should be have good psycology, just like always patient and dont be greedy. And second one is have knowledge about fundamental and technical analysis. All entry or buy and sell decision depend on the  from analysis and not from emotional.

Without proper knowledge even though you buy and sell many times you may not be a successful trader. So first learn all the basics of trading and then slowly start with a small amount until you understand this crazy high volatile market. Even after you become expert in trading I suggest don't invest a huge amount in day trading because many unexpected things can change your calculations in a day so always use only a small portion of your investment amount in day trading.

Day trading isn't a skill; day trading is all luck. You may make money some days; you may lose some on other days. If you want to consistently make money, overtime, you're going to have to be in it for the long haul (this is in bitcoin, and it is in all other traditional investments, AS OF RIGHT NOW OF COURSE) Over the long haul, both crypto and all traditional investments make consistent gains per year.

Day trading ruins it and tries to put the skill on you. Which you shouldn't be trying to do. If the professionals can't do it, you sure as hell cant.

Day trading can be used as a way to learn, but it is a stressful job.

It can crush you emotionally and physically. You have to look at the chart, anticipate changes and predict movements. You have to follow the news, as even the most insignificant news may have a huge impact on the trends. Aside of using it as a learning tool, not really worth it. People who have done it know what I am talking about.

Yes, I agree. Trading is very difficult for those who dont know how this works. A trader must study all of the necessary things to get a good trade. Emotions should be set aside to prevent unnecesary moves that could lead to regret in the future.

It depends on how are you disciplined are you. Lets cite an example, you want to trade but you are not interested in it. The outcome is you will not become a good trader because you don't like what are you doing. When I am starting in trading, it takes me months to learn the basics only. Until now, I am learning the more complex things about trading so I can't consider myself a pro at this moment. Maybe in the next years I will Smiley

time wouldn't really tell. It would all depend on how the person view what he does and how he learn from it. It may take days or just week with constant resources (knowledge and experience), or maybe even a year or so, but don't be discouraged. For sure you'd be able to learn it.

Everybody can learn technical analysis and it doesn't take a lot of time. The problem is TA means nothing without a deep understanding of the market..and that takes a lot more time. Trading knowledge comes at a high price so be prepared to lose money as well. The more trades you lose the better trader you become because you learn something new from each failed trade. Also, it takes a special kind of character to become a good trader. TA knowledge doesn't make you a good trader, your approach and mindset does.

it really can not be targeted because it will really be slammed with individual nature. there are people who are able to learn from experience very quickly and even some are always repeating the same mistake.

I don't think there's a definite time-frame for an individual to master the art of trading. Most traders I know took years of practicing and actual trading yet they still aren't confident enough to bet on their skills and make decisions on their skills and analysis alone. Studying the markets and how it works isn't like studying a single event and expecting the outcome to be always the same that's why it's really hard to really master trading. You might get some good hints and good days but to not make losses? That seems to be quite improbable given the dynamics of the global markets.

You have to like and enjoy what you do before you can talk of being a master of it. Hence, before you become a master, you will have to invest good time on it.  This is just the way trading is. You have to like every bit of it; in fact, not just because of the profit but because you like doing it.

However, don't not think that every day is a rosy day for traders even masters too. Work on a strategy and master it, thats how you become a master of it.

To be honest, I don't think that there is any specific time limit where you can say that this person is master in every form of trading. In fact, I believe that there is no such limit and even the highly experienced person is still learning and improving his trading skills each and every second irrespective of how much my money he made in the past.  Generally, it is said that if a person is doing any activity for more than 10,000 hours then he gains expertise in the same activity but as I said even Warren Buffett is still learning something new each day in trading.

Yes trading is a skill, but you need to master the chart reading, and master the price action inorder to become a good trader. The heart beat of trading is in the chart reading.

They say that day trading is a skill, so practicing should make you good at it right? How long someone from newbie to advanced should spend to be considered good?
