hi, I need some advice.

I need to make a purchase online and I actually need to do it with a credit card.

The thing is though, I don't have a physical credit card, I don't want to wait for it, but I have some bitcoins.

What I need to do is, convert my BTC into USD in an exchange and get the USD in a virtual card. But I don't know which one to choose. Which virtual credit card provider would you recommend??

I can open 1 or 2 vcc's and experiment with small amounts, but I need ones with the best rates in terms of percentage charged for loading money into your virtual card and overall fees, monthly fees, ATM fees, initial cost (if there's any).

If you've used any virtual credit cards, could you please share your experience. It would be really helpful.

Thank you in advance!

P.S. I am aware there are some physical credit card providers, but many of them do not support countries outside EEA/SEPA zone.

You will get a hard time to find any after the VISA fiasco that "killed" a lot of services. Perhaps you can take a look at BitPay, BonPay, Epayment, ViaBuy. I stopped to use such service myself, so I can't say for sure the services mentioned are still working.

You can take a look at the "Service" subforum, there are several discussions about it you may find a better answer than mine.

Just a little correction:
You won't find any virtual Credit card that is based on bitcoin, there are (were) usually bitcoin debit cards or bitcoin prepaid cards but not credit cards. Nobody will issue a bitcoin based credit card because if they lend you some bitcoin, they won't have any possibility to force you to pay it back anytime.

You might want to check this list out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1242788.0

Although I am not sure if it's up to date with VISA problem with some providers, but you could check this list out and don't skip the step of actually looking into further and investigate the reviews and other people experiences regarding the service.

Hi. Thanks for your reply.

Just a little correction:

It is actually called virtual credit card even though it's not a credit card, it's a debit card which you can load money onto.

Regarding the bitcoin debit cards, I think you misunderstood what I was asking. I was asking about virtual credit card providers in fiat money.

You do realize you can actually sell your bitcoin in an exchange and get paid USD in your virtual credit card which only supports fiat money, like USD, GBP, EUR etc.

There are services like Yandex Money, EntroPay, Money Polo, and Neteller, they are all fiat wallets, but they also offer virtual credit card. The wallets have one account with the virtual credit card, meaning if you deposit money into your wallet, you can use this money to make payments as if you were using a real credit card. The virtual credit cards are usually issued by MasterCard.

After reviewing all the above payment providers, I have stopped at Yandex Money because I've read many negative reviews and customer experiences about all of them except for Yandex Money. I think it's the most reliable one out of them all, at least for my country anyway. The only downside is that it only has a Russian ruble wallet, no other currencies. If you deposit USD or any other currency in your Yandex Money wallet, the funds automatically get converted into rubles according to their rates at the time of money is received, the same applies if you spend your rubles to buy anything online in USD or other currencies.

thanks for the advice and the link!

I certainly read reviews and do my research before signing up for anything. That's why I eliminated many of my choices and and just stayed with one, that is Yandex Money. Because it's a legitimate and trusted company and their card service is actually provided by a trusted bank.

Thanks for the clarification, yes, I misunderstood your question.
Regarding the virtual credit cards, it's a bit misleading that we call them a credit card, but why not, if it's better to sell them with a name like this, no problem.
Too bad for us that the card that has the less complains is denominated in rubel and not USD, but that's life. The problem is you can't influence the exchange rate of the card issuer, so they can use any kind of exchange rate, which is no good for us, especially because of the double exchane (buying, selling the fiat).

Yes, it is Russian company that has been for years. Yandex is like Google in Russia, they provide email, drive, search engine and yandex money. Although I have not tried their service I hope you've made good choice as there really are a lot of companies there. I see that with the link I have provided there wasn't yandex on the list. Always good to know more alternatives/options that we have.

I have used "Aktia Wallet" https://www.aktia.fi/fi/aktia-wallet
They offer a virtual mastercard, that works well and is cheap to use. it is in Euros, €

Some good points of Aktia wallet:
  • Opening the wallet is free
  • Transferring money to the wallet is also free for sums over 50€
  • You can create as many virtual credit cards as you want to
  • You can delete a card whenever you want to
  • No extra fees for using the cards
  • You can get a payment sticker for 5€. (it is valid for 2 years)
  • They have a nice and easy interface in net and the phone app.

When you have active virtual credit cards, they charge 1€/month total, regardless of how many cards you have created. When you do not have any cards it is 0€/month.
These virtual mastercards work wherever mastercard work. (everywhere that I have tried so far)

The payment sticker is also handy. You can glue it to your phone or wherever and it works in most shops, but the total sum has to be below 25€.

To get it, you have to identify yourself and I am not sure in what countries Aktia offers this service   Undecided

PS. I have a regular credit card too, but I NEVER use it in the net. Virtual cards are much safer.

Thanks for that info, I've checked the site and I'm not sure what language it is.. Do they offer their wallet service and virtual card to residents of any country?

It's good to lend. It's about to release the main network. This should be a good return,

Have you tried Entropay Card? You can easily upload funds to your EntroPay account by using a bank or wire transfer. However, bank transfers in EU are usually much faster as they are considered as local bank transfers. The second option you can use to upload funds to your virtual EntroPay card is using another credit card. The major benefit of this option is that your funds will be available instantly, so you do not have to wait before you can start spending them with your EntroPay card. The only problem I find is high fees.

Hi, I've decided to not use EntroPay or any other above mentioned wallet services due to negative user reviews. You can do a quick search on Google and see what I mean.

Yandex Money looks a good option to me.

It will not be easy to get  a virtual credit card for bitcoins but Neteller and skrill offer virtual credit card which you can use to make payment in bitcoins through bitpay. You must pass a tough verification and KYC first.
