Poker By Proxy (https://pokerbyproxy.com) claims to offer daily returns of ~2%, see their past results here. That is an unprecedented growth in a competitive market. In fact, the return is so good that I have to double check whether the site is legit before I make a larger commitment. Does anyone know if it is?

If you have not yet become acquainted with the site, I give you the option to be referred by me: https://pokerbyproxy.com/referral/larsandersson.html

Already looked through this, seems like an HYIP/Ponzi because any logical way of looking at it mathematically falls apart.

BA Computer Science, University of Oxford
Dissertation was about threat modelling on distributed ledgers.

I believe that the site will scam eventually. Right now the site will give profit if you are careful with it, but do not invest anything that you can't afford to lose.

I'm pretty sure it's waiting for people to invest more and more, to steal everything one day...
They did do a decent effort to make that website though.
I tested their website before; everything worked as promised. I'm divested now though.

my typical question: if they are that good, then why they wont win everything for themselves, they should accumulated a lot of money already by doing that.

-- if someone were to be so skilled at their craft. poker, hold'em, derivatives, then they by nature should win , more , then they lose. they also must do so in patterns that beat the rake, and maximize on their available time. if that were the case, why wouldn't they be able to simply play on their own? see, poker, isn't a hard game to put a good run on, for a disciplined and practiced player who is serious. it becomes a day job of the skilled vs the gamblers, novices and the luck of the draw.

now, I'm sure people have had bad beats, other losses, and disasters in their life. but if they had the chops, they could get the money locally and just play back to the beginning. maybe they don't want to grind up, maybe they feel they have something others don't.

as a seasoned gambler, one would just say , if you really want to invest on a gamble, just buy and sell your bitcoin. statistically, poker players naturally only go up / down over a period of time, rarely does anyone just WIN WIN WIN, and who knows what end of the curve your money is going in for. if you want to gamble, gamble, then by all means, pick up a book and gamble. $1/$2 poker can be quite exciting for anyone and probably a much more satisfying experience.

but if they were good gamblers, and I sat with them, and saw their chops, and then was playing nearby or across the table, I'd stake anyone who I actually think could turn it around.

that's a gamble on a gamble on a gamble.

It is a Ponzi scheme. There have been many like it, which also claimed to play poker.

The concept of staking pro poker players is decades old.  There's nothing inherently impossible about the high daily profits.

Like every bitcoin deal though, there's always the chance of a scam.

Interesting idea though.  I know some of these online poker guys consistently make bank.

You are right, and there are websites dedicated to doing so. Like this one: http://www.chipmeup.com/

But these guys are not playing poker. They just market themselves that way.

DO NOT INVEST. First of all, you do not know who you are investing into. You won't know who is playing, his/her past results, what games they are playing etc..."Skilled" players won't be using PokerbyProxy to get staked. Plus, they aren't transparent at all. No mention of hand histories, usernames etc.

p.s. used to play professionally online when PS was around and knowledgeable in the poker community.

Haha this is so stupid, are you for real thinking this is a good idea? Total joke.

Why would people what can compound 5% every single day work for you?? Think about that.

Anyway in case you still think they are a charity and hate making money for only themselves, or if you think they need a big balance to start and that is the reason.

If Mr PokerPro starts with $1 and makes 5% a day here is his fantastic journey:

Day 10 : $1.60 (Pretty poor right?)
End of first month: $4.32 (Haha loser can't even afford a beer!)
End of third month: $80.73 (Lame!)
End of sixth month: $7,185 (Oh ok, not bad, still crap for 6 months work!)
End of eighth month: $121,739 (Wow these 5% gains are looking good!)
End of year: $54,211,841 (Whoa!!! Millionaire!)

So if he starts with several thousand dollars, an easy sum for all intelligent people who have access to poker to acquire, they can make themselves a million within 4 months with the ability they claim to posses.

If you deposit $5,000 with these muppets, at 10% they will hand you back $87,000 in just one month.

Ask yourselfs once more! Why are they helping you!

Also for fun, if one of those idiots starts with 1 cent, at 15% per day (their best case) you will be left with $142,794,581,863,314,240,000 (142 million trillion) within 365 days.

Just have a look at 2% per day too for their worst case: $100 turns into $137,000 in one year. Again why do they need your money!?!?!

Have fun!

True, and in most cases we would be wrong to exponentially extrapolate, except that is what these poker pros are offering.

Well, it's a scam. But i think they're very patient, judging from the amount of effort they have put in it, with the fancy videos and everything.
Kind of like inputs.io, i suppose...

What videos? I really want to check those out! All I see is a static site with several pages, nothing special.
