Mining with Bitminter and EasyMiner

Hi,

After some struggling I used this Virtual COM Port drivers to get miner applications to detect my Jalapeno: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

I am using BitMinter which often stops working when it runs for longer than 2-3 hours. This means I constantly have to check and restart the mining device every few hours in case it has stopped. It is winter now so I don't think it is overheating. Is there a way to automatically reset and start the Jalapeno miner in Bitminter?

I have even seen this behaviour with EasyMiner when using the BFGMiner which is preventing me from mining overnight as the mining process lasts for 2-3 hours max before I have to manually reset and restart it again.

I am using a BFL Jalapeno's and I trying to maximize my throughput.
I am strongly considering getting cloud mining as it looks to be way more cost-effective than my Jalapeno's are at the moment.

I only got this Jalapeno last week so I missed the boat a little, but I am still interested in mining with it.

I would appreciate any help or general comments on this.

use cgminer 3.5 and cgminers zadig tool to change the drivers. odd are if bitminter dosnt stay connected then its a miner fault or a internet connection issue

What exactly happens? Does the program crash or lock up? Does the device spit out tons of errors in the log and finally give up? Do you get network errors or other error messages?

im going to bet bitminter is pigging out on RAM and crashing.

It's possible. I run it for weeks without restarting without increased memory usage. But it could be something that only occurs under specific conditions.

bitminter works with jalas fro mscratch - maybe u have usb ports beei nturned down, not enough electricity or just somethign else is wrong. theres almost no chances that its bitminter.

You don't need to change the Jala driver, it works without having to use zadig.
