O.k - i already said sorry countless times - so enough of that and i should prove i am sorry.

This is the deal, i owe quite a few of you a "bit" of bitcoins - especially noagendamarket and bitlex. This is what i can offer in exchange for the trouble and stupidiness i have caused.

- PHP work - i can design sites related to bitocin and bitcoin automation.
- Mobile Minutes - i currently can buy $50 worth of mobile minutes.
-  Data Input - Im pretty good at database work.
- Motorla Q phone - with page plus cellular.

Thats what i currently i have/can do. This list will be updated as soon as i can get more "stuff".

As many of the people i have hurt said "I dont trust you", "you might run away" ect.. i may be a lier and a gambler but i still have some pride and i want to prove i want to make things right.  I am a idiot gambler that is selfish - i know that, but i want to make things right.

To me that means, "ok guys, I'm broke, obviously no way that I'm going to repay you all, here's my stuff, now let's have a fresh start"
Guess it doesn't sound very funny if he owes yo money...

Also to me it somehow raises the whole question of lending in a deflationary currency.

Why can't you just pay them back?

If he has spent all the bitcoins, and no one trusts him to do business with him he cant. His only option is to either buy bitcoins with cash ( which he may or maynot have, and considering the price increase of bitcoims that could turn out to be quite a lot) or he can just give to his creditors the goods and services he would have otherwise traded for bitcoins, of course before doing so both agree on how much this will knkock off the debt.

I think noagenda shouod be paid back first since he is owed the largest amount( as far as I know), perhaps steve could give us the details of exactly who and how much he owes to.

This is kind of the bitcoin version of bankruptsy.

Also people should not lend more than they can afford to lose( to the lenders, including me)

Well, I have not see yet any negotiation between the parties about how to erase his debt.  I thought he's offering his free services to the people who owe him.

Plus, didn't he supposed to do some promised works?

Yeah, it seems the result is that the chance a lender will not recieve back the amount is higher.

And not lend for the purpose of gambling. What were you guys thinking?

When you lend money, you're gambling that you'll get it back. I find it funny that stevenbucks lost the funds to gambling himself.

I would say that whenever he's doing some work for someone from now on, the payment should be sent directly to the people he owes money.

On the other hand, letting him give it back himself could be a good exercise for him.

Proposal:

I will pay 8 BTC for a $10 T-Mobile To Go refill code as offered in the other thread, under the following terms:

1. You must send the code first.  Once I receive it and successfully apply it to my account, I will send the bitcoins.
2. I will send the bitcoins directly to someone that you owe bitcoins to.

This requires agreement by both stevenbucks and someone who is owed bitcoins.  Any volunteers?  The bitcoin receiving address should be posted to the thread so anyone can verify that the payment was made.

Harsh? That's pretty normal I would say - to pay back what you owe. I know of the situation, but why should BitLex pay for steven's mistakes? He's not expecting him to pay it off today I am sure, but in time he should give back all the money.

If you borrow, you should give back. I don't think BitLex knew that steven was using those bitcoins for gambling.

Don't get me wrong, I am pity for steven and I happen to gamble as well, but never with borrowed money. Still, he needs to pay it back - he's already doing it by offering his services for bitcoins that will be sent to BitLex directly, so what's wrong with that? I think it's fair.

i actually don't care what people do with the money they borrow, they could tell me anything anyway and do something completely different.

you have no idea about our conversations and all of his blablabla about how trustworthy he is and that i know he'll pay me back and all that kind of bs.
besides that, it wasn't even that much money back in those days, Grin
but he ran away anyway (after telling me a few times more, that i surely get my money back).

so far i don't even believe that he is a gambler at all, that's what he says, sorry, but i've no reason to believe any of his words.

Having watched his behavior in the Dragon Tale's game I have no doubt in my mind that he is a problem gambler.

Have a third party manage a public bitcoin address who I agree is trustworthy so everyone can publicly see you are keeping your word .

I didnt lend the guy money to gamble it was for a site I wanted to create. Im happy to get back the value of the bitcoins at the time I paid them, not at the current value - so its about  $400  rather than 3 000  .  There is biddingpond to sell your stuff on I dont want to manage physical good delivery.

But then Im not the russian mafia so your kneecaps are safe......

Thats as far as I will go. Would you let someone like this near a site you would offer to bitcoiners ? How would I even trust there wasnt a backdoor in it ?

I understand that there are complications, and that everyone involved wants to be a "nice guy," but how is this a confusing matter? A loan needs to have terms of repayment. At the very least, a loan implies the timely return of what was lent.

If someone reneges on a loan, that is a legal matter that can be taken to court. While convincing the court that BitCoins are a legitimate currency may be too difficult, you don't need to. BitCoins are a limited resource that have a market value, just like cars, houses, and toe-nail clippers.

I know I'm oversimplifying thing, but I believe courts are beginning to recognize the value of virtual goods. See this article about a UK court's ruling on the theft of Zynga poker chips:
http://worldsinmotion.biz/2011/02/hacker_steals_12m_worth_of_zyn.php?goback=.gde_1826294_news_353698843

Bankruptcy is a special thing that governments enforce. It's a way of keeping people out of "debtor's prison," where they become a complete drain on society. But bankruptcy really is something where the government forcibly prevents lenders from pursuing repayment.

Unless Stevenbucks calls on his government to protect him with their bankruptcy laws, he owes his lenders repayment.

That said, negotiating alternative means of repayment makes a lot of sense for both parties, if doing so will get the lenders something in return, and if it will keep the matter out of court.

Third-party arbitration also sounds useful (so that repayment can be apportioned according to size of debt and length of time since the load). But that requires trust.

I think we can trust his conscious thoughts - he's not malicious. If he were malicious, this thread would be pointless. He could really do with some support. We need to be nice to him and work out a reasonable repayment rate. We should make him pay a value similar to that at the time of purchase rather than the current value.

Stevenbucks really needs to get some help and should demonstrate to us that he is doing so. If he doesn't do so all our niceness will be futile.
