How to Bet Agains Bitcoin Without Risk?

I thought about shorting bitcoin in bitfinex but i think there's risk of a margin call... (even if I don't use leverage the exchange could close my position right?)

basically I want to bet against bitcoin without risk for the next 5 years

is this possible? how?

There's no such thing as betting/investing/trading without risk. If there was such thing as no risk, then everyone would've put 90% of their funds in those and everyone would win. Even simply going to college is a risk.

Any kind of bet against Bitcoin involves risk.

If you sell, you risk having to buying back higher. If you short, that equates to dollar losses, not just bitcoin losses. And leverage carries the risk of margin calls. You need collateral to short, and just storing funds on BTC exchanges is risky: they are prone to hacks, exit scams, DDOS and API failure during volatility, etc.

The only kind of "no-risk" trades are arbitrage schemes. That means buying low at Exchange A, selling higher at Exchange B and sending the fiat back to Exchange A. Or you can arbitrage futures. Here's a guide on how to do that. Arbitrage usually brings pretty low returns, though.

There's no such thing as risk free investment and bet but you can lessen it by investing into altcoins with real potential to grow in the next coming years, specially in altcoins that are currently on the top 100 in coinmarketcap. Although it is still risky, at least the risk is less. Diversify your investments also to lessen risk more. That way you can bet against btc with lesser risk.

The only way is to manage your risk by having stop-loss acording to your money management, risk-free trading doesn't exist sadly

True, everything comes with risk. I would say low-yield bonds are maybe the lowest in risk, maybe buying gold?

Anything else is going to have an inherent risk, hell a bus could hit you tomorrow, does that mean you'll stay indoors from now on?

My investment philosophy is: do not lose money.
All investments are risky and successful. The greater the risk, the greater the success

There is nothing in the world without risk and bitcoin is known as a high risk investment so your every investment into cryptocurrencies has probably more risk than you think.

It's possible.
Go to coinmarketcap and print a lot of past charts
 build a small time machine
Go back in time and short bitcoin in all crashes.

Hilarious - still, if he goes back in time, there's a risk of him screwing up his future or some unforeseen butterfly effect that ripples through time, lol.

In all seriousness though, if you're 'betting' against something - money is involved and with it, inherent risks.

No risk no reward. If there was a way to make money with no risk, then money would be irrelevant. Best you can hope for is reducing risk, and then you're in the same boat as anyone else with your level of knowledge. Saying that, if you find any no risk 'bets', send them this way.
