I have seen them on eBay. But if you look on amazon.com, Jones Gear sells the backplane a lot cheaper, ($120) thought you may have to wait a few days for them to be available.

The power supply, also on amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/HP-403781-001-DL380-1000W-Supply/dp/B001U0EM1W/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=TCK9CG64ABI0&coliid=I270ZVR1FNH2Q6

I purchased ($31) and am currently using that one. Good for 10 blades.

I bought a backplane and I'm not currently using it.  The right price I will sell it. I prefer bitcoin and escrow, just pm me.

Art, I just got my backplane powered up with one of these and it's REALLY loud. About as loud as a blender or maybe a vacuum cleaner.  Is that normal?  If so are there any quieter alternatives?  Thanks.

This one makes a very small amount of noise. But nothing as loud as you say.

I also have this one:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZTEAKY/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It is essentially the same rating, also for the Proliant DL-380, also rated for 1000w, but I found it to be much quieter, so quiet in fact I had to look and make sure the fans were running.

Did you look and see that the fans are not rubbing against the grille?

Previously, I received one of these that the grille that covers the fans was slightly bent, causing the fan blades to rub, that one made a wicked noise.
