BlockChain API equivalent for LiteCoin

As the title says, is there any equivalent service == to the BlockChain's API for Litecoin?
i.e. where i can check transactions, balance, confirmed count, etc via something similar (or using) to JSON?

i assume the answer to this question is NO...
i have looked around before posting, but can not find anything (a few now defunct projects).

Would anyone like to point out how this could be built? (in terms for my simple, not experienced in may languages, coders mind)
(i have dedicated servers, so could maybe help here, but depends on future load and security of my other sites....)
