because a mother is better than a father

You can't know that for sure. Even if the man/woman is a bad husband/wife it doesn't mean that that person is a bad parent. Kids need both parents. It's a very tough decision to make. It's probably best to try working it out somehow. Separation can help if some kind of abuse is going on.

that's the problem if your the child because you can't do anything about that problem, just focus on your studies and after you finished your schooling and had a job and going to settle down don't do the same mistake your parents made

It depends on many factors. For example, the child's age. If he/she is old enough I would let him/her decide whom to live with. Also, I believe that if parents can't get along with each other it would be better for all members of the family to separate
