Put this forum on top when you start to create your list if its by sequence from the best to good as there isn't any better source for Crypto Info on the internet than this forum. Other than this, there is CoinDesk, Cointelegraph and many more. You can find hundreds of them if you do a simple google search. I just named a few that I think are the best.

Agree this is the best place to find info on everything crypto. Ones I've found useful has been;

The obvious ones : coindesk, CCN, BTCnews, Cointelegraph.
The less obvious ones: newsletters from BitMex and Off The Chain, ZeroBlock, https://bitsonblocks.net/.

As shared with previous posters, you will be overwhelmed with ICO sites when you google them. So, in order to determine how legitimate the site is, I search their traffic in https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo I wouldn't say the most traffic is the key for the legitimacy, I believe it will give a bit of trust.

Hello KHodl,

When looking into coins and related news, you should always do your own thorough research. In the cryptocurrency community there are a lot of biased news sources, so we suggest you to compare several sources before assuming anything. We will provide you with a few cryptocurrency related sources we think you will find useful. Don't forget to always cross check multiple sources!

Some of the most used news sites include:
https://coindesk.com/
https://cointelegraph.com/
https://coinjournal.net/
https://coininsider.com/

The most commonly used source for the pricing of listed cryptocurrencies is CoinMarketcap. However, some people prefer to use CryptoCompare because it also has a feature which allows you to post questions, thoughts or articles for each coin in the comment section. This way you can learn the pros and cons of each coin and ask any questions you have about a specific coin.

To keep yourself up to date with the latest developments we suggest you watch the videos of the cryptocurrency expert Andreas Antonopoulos. His videos are full of useful information about the blockchain itself and the developments of cryptocurrency in general. To make it even more interactive Mr. Antonopoulos is doing Q&A's on a regular basis. His youtube channel can be found here

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to leave us a DM.

With kind regards,

The Anycoin Direct team

general news : It's hard to get Neutral/independent sources for tracking news, CNN and other TV channels tend to criticize Bitcoin while coindesk maximize bitcoin role.
price:  Bitcoin price is not fixed so it is best to keep track of all the prices and the best tool to do that is https://cryptowat.ch/
development and others: github and trusted bitcointalk members [achow101, gmaxwell, ....etc]
trading: https://cryptowat.ch/

How about alternative outlets of cypto news and information such as podcasts? There are some very good ones out there for example Laura Shins, 'Unchained' for all things blockchain, 'Ledger Cast' for trading enthusiasts and 'The Bitcoin Podcast Network' for all around crypto coverage. Podcasts are a great resource for people who sometimes seek a more passive style of learning.

Cheers!

Nice hack. I like to use https://www.twitteraudit.com/ to verify the following of twitter accounts for ICO's. Crazy how many are payed but not surprising.

This is my list except the General News. I look everywhere and sometimes compare two topics realted to each other to see which one is probably just manipulating the info or misleading it.

If you are looking for the legit twitter accounts of such ICO's that won't be enough.  They can pay real followers just to follow them. But getting updates from legit companies that you are waiting for their updates such as hardware wallet (Ledger Nano S) they are active with twitter of giving reports on what's happening and what are the new updates.
