Hi! Greetings from Myanmar and I'm new to Mining.

I have one Antminer S9 with 13.5 TH.

And the electricity at my home is not stable fluctuating with Neighbors welding steels or drilllings sometimes.

At that time my Antminer Hashrate drops to 0.00 TH although it is still running and I have to restart the miner everytime it happens.

Now it also happens at the night time while we are sleeping and found out the whole night it was running without Hashrates.

What I am worrying these days is if this scenario causing harm to my Miner because of many repeated Power Cycles during the Restarts.

So, can you please suggest me  your opinions to solve this issue?

Will a Surge Protector do fine because it is not a Surge usually as the electricity went under normal voltage most of the times with over usage.

I have an old voltage regulator but I think its not working very well now and I can't afford a new one yet.

Thanks.

Are you on 110V or 220V? Which PSU are you using?
A surge protector won't help for voltage drops and not sure if even a good regulator would do. I have seen the miners not detecting chips when voltage is inadequate but in your case the boards may not even be starting to hash due to too frequent and wide fluctuations.

For what its worth, I've had batches of S9s drop as your described.   Worst example was about 80% of my miners, sometimes its half, sometimes only one or two.  These are spread across (2) transformers and (10) separate distribution panels, each with surge devices.

Give that I'm about 85% of the power draw on the lines serving my property, and only the miners are on those transformers, I'm guessing its not power related, although I clueless what it could be.  My wild ass guess is some blip on the Internet.

ps.  I use Awesome Miner and have coded a rule to deal with it.

Mined for a living since 2017.  Dabbled for years before that.
Linux admin since 0.96 kernel and Slackware distributions on (4) floppies...

do you use wifi ?

if you do don't

do you use ethernet cable?

how many meters is it?

10 or more meters they can drop out or pick up interference electric plasma welding could do that.

try to find a shielded good quality cat 7 cable for the miner it can help.

My guess, it's a temperature issue, maybe your miner exceeds the higher temperature that leads to high-temp protection.

The other reason could be the cause of the drop, it might be your hashing board is full of dust or moist that's why your miner is not running properly.

I suggest that you give more details like pasting the kernel logs here and the screenshot of the miner status so that we can identify if what is the issue of your miner.
