A fairly small chance, yes. There is always a chance, so I assume your question is how likely it is.
I don't think it is very big or that ever will be, but risk does sum up eventually and sooner or later it might happen.

There really isn't anything that anyone can gain with a nuclear war.

PS: When you talk about WW3, it makes no sense to refer to the start of the war. It will take few minutes for missiles to be exchanged automatically and you will likely not survive it for very long, no matter where you are.

Not world war 3, but a major war looks near. 7 Iranians were killed in Israeli airstrikes. It does not stop with 100 missiles fired at Syria.

If USA goes to war with North Korea, Israel may not survive the new powerful Iran and its allies.

Now that Pakistan has manufactured 150 JF-17 thunder fighter jets, Pakistan may go to war with India.

I don't believe the newt war is going to be about bombs, but cyber attacks. And, by the way, this war is already happening by now.
Cyber attacks are one of the most dangerous of all. Try to imagine the missile control of a powerful country being hacked. It is not about launching bombs, but having the control over them.
Of course, I'm talking about a wide war, as you asked.
Nowadays many wars are taking place, the war for the water and the medicine in Central Africa, the war for the oil and the strategic oil positions (US vs Russia on Sirya), the internal wars of Mexico against the narco (with more casualties than Syria) ...
