MT GOX withdraw

So I have been waiting from MT. GOX to verify my account for 6 months, a friend got me into BTC and wet up my mtgox account way back and instead of putting in my name for the account he just put in jiberish so when I got serious about investing in BTC i tried to get verified but the name on my account is not my name on my bills and drivers license.  I have contact mtgox a few times about this and have failed to get an answer on how to resolve this. Are my btc gone for good? How can I get them out?

They can be difficult. It took me a couple of weeks submitting document after document trying to get verified.

In the end they accepted a picture of a printed copy of an internet / tv bill.  Something that I could have easily typed out in word.

Is there no option to change your name on there? I thought you could. I know for sure you can change your address.
