Recommended Transaction Fee?

I was attempting to send 1 BTC to a friend, however it's been 24 hours and I still have 0 confirmations. I completely forgot to set a transaction fee in my new wallet. So I'm sending another now. What is the recommended transaction fee to get this done and set in about an hour or two?

0.0001 would get 1 btc sent in an hour.

What wallet are you using? Most clients recommend a fee automatically.

Multibit adds 0.0001 by default. It usually gets it sent within 30-40 minutes.
