There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Wow, he got a HUGE deal on those. $300 USD each... They retail for $550 over here...... I'd have paid the $300 you want plus shipping to USA. i'll pay any customs and duties taxes too

not sure if this was a real deal... i'm sure he could've sold for at least 2 btc yet he chose unrealistic lowball offer, something doesn't add up...

Maybe he gets scammed somehow and is selling the GPUs again when LTC<20US$ or BTC<500-600US$. Finger crossed that doesn't happen

thanks for the speculation Wink -quick explanation

actually just needed them sold quick, guys.  Being held by UPS inbound from the states, UPS stating unless I shipped them they would be "abandoned/returned to shipper" whatever that means-  ship them back to the states pay VAT all over again, argh.

plus... Bitcoin skyrocketing, wanted to get in badly, no one responded for the first week and a half from the UK, and all offers were from other places which I said in the beginning I would not ship to anyway.  No way to forward them outside the UK-

I was ready to sell them on Ebay for cash and then transfer into bitcoin, would've taken 3 weeks min to get bitcoin.  Lowered my price and sold to one of the first takers.. at least the first PM I read.  first come first serve.

so there you have it, as simple as I could.

Got my 1 BTC and I'm happy-  except that it's now worth only $700 (!)

Either cash out at that or hold a few months (weeks?), We have a way to fall and level off yet before the price starts increasing again (at a more reasonable rate IMO)
