Hello there,

I bought a rig with this full specs:

60 GB SSD
4 GB RAM
6 GPU XFX RX 580 GTS BLACK EDITION 8 GB GDDR-5
PSU 1300 W GOLD Certified
Windows 10 - 64 bits.

But I have a problem setting my virtual memory, I set up this to 16 gb on VRAM but my OS freeze with 6 GPU'S connected, there is not a issue with the GPU'S they working fine but after a few minutes my operating system going to freeze. Every time I have low space in my disk, when i reset my pc the OS slowly.

So... my questions are:
I need more RAM ?
I need more DISK?

I need to solve this ASAP!

Thanks in advance.

How much free disk space do you have available?  4GB of RAM should be ok.

Cause you know your ssd size is just to small for the rig, installed windows consumes about 40-45GB of space of your hdd, and for good working miner usually recommends to setup virtual memory by this formula the size of your memory of your gpu multiply to the number of cards, in your case 8x6 = 48GB the size of swap file..

Your RAM is fine. Your disk is borderline, just enough to make it.

If you are considering an upgrade, upgrade your storage disk first. Why? In simple terms, some mining algos require software that uses virtual memory (storage) meaning that you need extra storage space available to be able to use those miners.

With 4GB ram you need a larger pagefile. For that, you need a larger hard disk (will probably cost you around $40).

Also it saddens me to say that the XFX cards have a mediocre heatsink.

You need to increase the amount of virtual memory. The maximum amount of 36 GB. Do it as if on video, if it does not work, write to me.

120gb is usually fine. But check the price difference between that and one slightly bigger. Always worth overspeccing if you can.

It is a memory problem. Windows uses updates frequently unless you disable them for good at services.msc command  in Windows. When you have 6 cards increasing virtual memory to 16gb min and 32 gb max it is obligatory to do so. This takes space from the Hd, upgrade to 240 gb if you keep windows updates active or to 120 gb if you have it disabled.

I already disable this before, but I increased my VRAM on 16 gb min and 16 max, I'll try with 16 gb min and 32 max. But first I'll get a HD 120 GB.

You could run the rig via Simplemining OS and wont have any of these issues or need to upgrade the SSD. Just need a 16 GB flash drive.
