Typical Pump & Dump.

Don't worry if you are long term investor. We are still heading beyond $1000 this or next month.

I wouldn't count on that. That being said, if you really are a long term investor, then you won't mind if this takes one to two years to recover, as it has in the past. Although, these days it seems that bubbles happen every 6 months, so it could be sooner.

So...
Interval between peak of bubble 1 and bubble 2: approx. 22 months.
Interval between peak of bubble 2 and bubble 3: approx. 6 months, assuming we just peaked.
Interval between peak of bubble 3 and bubble 4: approx 1.64 months? -18 months? Do we need to invent time travel now?

Maybe two intervals isn't really enough to say anything about how the market seems to behave.

Can't get access to my Bitstamp account at the moment....servers are obviously jam packed with frantic punters placing their bets either which way.

Don't worry if you are long term investor. We are still heading beyond $1000 this or next month.

The typical pump & dump is a penny stock which is spammed (the pump) and then sold (the dump), never to recover. That's more like some of the alt-chains and *coins going around, with premature promotion and shameless overhyping.

The correction in bitcoin price is simple profit-taking. More extreme corrections are called crashes, followed by a bounce (if the trend stays intact), or a dead cat bounce (if the bounce fails to make a new high).

I'm legitimately surprised that people are panicking.

When I went to sleep 2 nights ago, it was $400-something.

After I came back from work the next day, I see a high of $900, and current price at $800.

When I go to sleep that day, its $700.

When I wake up today, its still $700.

I mean, I get that its a bumpy ride, but when you literally double the price in one day, a pullback is to be expected, honestly. I was panicking when we dropped from $900 to sub-$600 in 10 minutes. After we recovered from that, it seems like its slowly calmed down a bit.

Yeah but you missed a low of $375 between the $700s...

We're fine, after such a sharp rise we're due for a correction. Some investors have goals and actually stick to them, once the goals were met they sold. Probably triggered a mini-sell off, but we've found hte bottom and on the road back up - I just hope it's more rational and stable than the previous doubling in 2 days
