Hi
Is there a way I can get the value of Bitcoin E-Mailed to me each day. Also if such services exits is there one where you put values in that when they these values are reached I get an E-Mail Alert automatically.
Thank you..

you can - but it would depend on who you want to tell you the value... now what is wrong with looking at :- http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/
|
In the Beginning there was CPU , then GPU , then FPGA then ASIC, what next I hear to ask ....

Say again ? and why ? I'm not a bitcoin investor. But I do like the Bitcoin concept. If I could see its value when I start my daily Internet session would keep me in touch with its development. thx Stephen Gornick

Possum, I will work on putting this together today and offering it as a free service. What features would you like to see in a system like this?
Would you want notification at a set time with the current price? Or Would you want immediate notification based on high/low/average thresholds?
If at a set time, what would be of more value to you? The price at that instant? Or the daily average?
Would a comparison to the previous day/week/month be a valuable metric? If so, would a real curreny value or percentage change be better?
I had planned on adding similar functionality to BitCoins Mobile, our iPad application for bitcoin investors.

Intervex Digital Me thinks me needs to learn way more about what Bitcoin is before you do all that.. I do think the Bitcoin forums are best though.. It would be a Great way to advertise a commercial bitcoin site. I know I would give the URL of a service that did that to everyone I know who are interested in Bitcoin..

If you don't mind my hijacking this thread, perhaps I can open this up to anyone interested in such a service... I'm sure there are folks out there who don't have phones capable of running the plethora of apps on the market, and also those who prefer a high level overview of the market in a single, daily, easily digestible, easily shareable format like e-mail. I'd be interested in daily tabular data. I can mine for it now, but if it were in a format that was easily imported into spreadsheets and charting programs, that would be very useful.

TraderTimm: Yes for something so mathematically perfect Bitcoin has a long way to go. Its like it is gold from the mountain. It still needs to be formed into the Jewelery it can be by showing it in Graphical data and giving people access to that data so they can build the tools to show it as well. Such a task it beyond me...

You can keep the quote, just e-mail me a bitcoin daily.

Why does Bitrebel have 65+ Ignores? Because Bitrebel says things that some people do not want YOU to hear.

The "Bitcoin Ticker" app on Iphone will automatically send you push alerts whenever bitcoin reaches the price you set. It is a great app that I enjoy a lot. I don't know if there is an android version.

Possum, If that question was directed at me, I would do a number of things, either allow someone to chose their preferred exchange, or, monitor the trade volume of each and report the price of the exchange with the most liquidity (thus giving a price that can be assumed to be the most accurate representation of comparative value.), or alternatively, monitor the popular exchanges and report the average of the current price across all exchanges.

E-mail, Jabber, SMS, and HTTP request notifications are available. Get notifications when: - bitcoin price changes on major exchanges (i.e. matches certain threshold)
- you receive Bitcoins
- hashing difficulty is adjusted

This may not be what you need, but I run an iphone app called "Bitcoin Ticker". It allows me to set notification alerts whenever one bitcoin is more or less than a certain value, based on Mt.Gox trading data.

Or you could use my little tool to see the price of BTC in your system tray the whole day (see the signature) BTW, I could add email send-outs if needed, but I think many sites already do it?
