Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

BTC price will be >1000 or <500 by the end of the day if yesterday is any indication of how the market reacts to the senate

I do not think the market reacted to the senate yesterday. A coincidence.

I do think the market may be <500 by the end of the day for other reasons. We are in a true correction now I believe.  We won't see ATHs again for several days or weeks potentially.

No, it was well planned out. Whenever you want to make a big move (either up or down), it will have the best effect when everybody is on edge because there's an allegedly big "news event" going on. People will use the news to rationalize any ridiculous change and act on it. With no news, a sudden sharp rise or crash will be much better absorbed by the market.

Very positive comments by Sen. Warner and Sen. Merkley. Warner compared bitcoin to the rise of cell phones. Merkley talked about a business in his home state that accepts bitcoin. Both of them showed actual glee on their faces when they talked about how much the price has gone up.

I'm legitimately surprised at how the senators actually considered it a form of actual payment. I expected that they'd focus almost exclusively on the negative aspects of Bitcoin./

This is all great news. I detect no hostility by these officials against bitcoin. We shall see what actually happens and if the banks or some other group somehow conviences them otherwise through covert means. I hope not, this IS the future.
