Having a strange issue with cgminer 3.7.2 the last few days. Was out of town so no time to investigate till now and im at a loss

This is my desktop which has been having issues. ( I mine overnight and at low intensity during the day with it )

Specs:

Desktop:
Phenom 2 x6 1090t
Asus m4a89td pro usb3 Motherboard
8Gb ddr3 1600 memory
2x Sapphire 6950 in the pci-e 16x slots
750w corsair modular psu

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit Up to date

Miner:

Sempron CPU unlocked to Dual core. Mining SRC using qrk miner
2Gb DDR3 1600 Mem
2x 6950 1x 7850
900w Antec PSU
Windows 7 ultimate 64 Bit Up to date
Mining:

Solo mining bottlecaps. Wallet located on miner on local network Also windows 7 (wireless connection)
Desktop upstairs (wireless connection)

Conf File:

Code:
daemon=1
server=1
rpcuser=x
rpcpassword=xx
rpcport=9862
rpcallowip=10.0.0.33 (Desktop)
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

Issue:

I can suddenly only get one miner to connect at a time. While I was away I had been using guiminer as it's much easier to switch pools remotely from my phone.

I noticed that one morning my hashrate had dropped by about 450kh and signed on to see one of my cards displaying "Connection Problems" So I obviously restarted the worker.

Only for it to report it could not connect to any pool. So I verified all the settings were correct, Even cloned the one that was working and selected the correct gpu. Nothing. Stopping one worker will allow the other to run but only 1 at a time.

Code:

Gave up on guiminer and went to old faithful cgminer

Code:
cgminer.exe --scrypt -u x -p xx -o http://10.0.0.209:9862 --gpu-platform 0 -d 0 -d 1 -w 256 -v 1 -I 18 -g 1 -l 1 -T -s 1 --thread-concurrency 8000

^^Reports correct hashrate but WU slowly drops and after about 30 minutes it slowly drops out and says it cannot connect. Never finding a block when it should on average find 2 in that time frame. ( Meanwhile the miner downstairs is cranking out blocks left and right)

Running separate instances reports the same issue as guiminer where the second on will never connect.

More Info:

I have the top card overclocked as the bottom causes the other to overheat Separate hasrates are reported so it is seeing and using both cards fine. Just not at the same time

I overclock via MSI afterburner as I use it for gaming as well

Card 1 Stock 800 Core 1250 MEM  ~400Kh 77° In bottom slot
Card 2 OCed 900Core 1350 MEM ~475Kh 82°  On top

I am running 3 monitors (No eyefinity) 1 DVI in each card and HDMI in the bottom

Tried with no apps running

Re installed latest drivers

Tried removing Crossfire bridge ( Crossfire is disabled via CCC)

Resource usage during mining CGminer sticks at 25% cpu usage spread across all cores

6.29 Gb available ram ( 51,312 used by cgminer )

90%+ free disk space

Ports forwared to 10.0.0.209 using custom RPC port via .conf file. ( Miner housing the wallet is also Windows 7 )

Originally had wallet located on desktop but moved to miner while trouble shooting. No better

Anyone ever encountered this? Im at a loss here Sad

Thanks for the help. A nice tip could be in store for anyone with a solution Wink

I would like to stick with windows as my main OS but will move to Ubuntu if no solution is found ( Currently dual boot )

try running each card in it's own instance and see what your results are. Or go back to an earlier version of cgminer... 3.1.1 works on my 6970.

Just an FYI - From the NEWS file.

Version 3.8.0 - 10th November 2013

- api update version to 2.0 and remove GPU form API-README
-Remove now unused scrypt files.
- api.c remove all GPU/gpu references and correct code as required

My bad... just saw you are on 3.7.2.

Jimmy!

Just getting back into the swing of things here. I see I have a message from ya. Ill message you back tonight Wink

Sorry, it was late Wink I even went back to 3.1.1 with my 7950's... seems 3.1.2 and up just caused issues for me...
