We have been talking to hashfast and we will be releasing some information about their latest products.
We where promised this yesterday, but they must have forgotten, so as soon as it comes in, we will let you people know.

Apart from the below pic, we haven't received anything further as yet, which is already public knowledge. We do know that they have their wafers and processing them now.

What do you mean by "stall for time"?
Do you know something that we dont know and Hashfast need distractions?
I do hope they will deliver a product... Maybe ease up the orders on knc, so we dont have to wait so long for one.

So you created a new thread to announce the news that Hashfast were going to tell you some news, maybe, yesterday?

You know there are like half a dozen Hashfast threads, even official ones started by them in the "Custom" sub section of this forum, you could have posted your "news" in there for all the hundreds of people waiting for official news from HF on their delayed hardware.

Just seems wierd you would start one here.. you must admit it looks strange.

Yes... I do agree with you. We run mentaso.com and I am in discussions with one of the Hashfast crew about getting some info your way. I have asked a few times and been presented with some stale info, but recently things have changed a bit and they are actually being more vocal with us. There are only so many email reminders I can send before I think a forum post is needed to push along the flow of info.

From what I have been told, they do have a unit running, but I dont believe its with their Hashfast Asic chip. Of course I cannot confirm this as I have yet to see the actual rig.

I didnt plug my site in the OP and when I did mention it, I didnt link it...

Anyway, I will be posting the information I get from Hashfast when they finally send it.

There is not much to review at the moment, which is a shame as I am sure if more pics and info are released by Hashfast that they might actually take in more orders... However thats not the case and is why we still rank them low on our miner charts.

All we can guestimate is that they will be running 3 chips as this picture shows a 3 rad setup with 3 waterblocks. It doesnt mean much at the moment, so I do agree its still a guessing game with Hashfast. The cooling does look like an old version of a coolermaster self contained unit. The newer coolermaster units have smoother hoses now.

Unfortunately I think you guys that ordered from HashFail are screwed.  By the time they ship the difficulty will be way higher than it is today, and KnC will have announced their 2nd gen machines.  The writing was on the wall with these pricks when they only accepted btc and wire transfers on their order page.  Unless the exchange rate explodes again and stays high which is unlikely short term, nobody is going to make a dime off HashFail units.

whoever told you wasnt being accurate (and may be was trying to mislead).. they dont have a unit running yet.  well, if you mean, they had a prototype running using FPGA's then yes they did.. and that does prove certain parts of the design will work.. but most asic companies are in the same position that theyve done an fpga test system to prove out certain parts of the design...   but thats not the same as having the asics back from the fab, mounted on boards, working in a real system (..that they could sell)

i think we're all sure that hashfast will show a working system the very same day that they get it to work and that the only reason why they havnt yet shown a working system is purely because its not yet working.  not because its broken but simply because theyre still waiting for critical parts that havnt arrived yet.    however long it takes them to receive the substrates back from the two manufacturers that they said were racing to beat each other to deliver as quickly as possible, plus a few extra days to populate them with dies.. and build some boards, get the drivers working, etc etc.

i also think they would jump up and down and tell everyone when the substrates have arrived, just like they did when the dies arrived as thats big news...  so i really dont think we will be surprised by the time we hear that the systems are working, as i think there are certain things we will have heard ahead of that milestone.

Your very right on that and we also questioned Cointerra on exactly the same issue as they where showing videos of their demo rig running, albeit an FPGA system.

I'm a KNC customer, a fairly semi-happy one all because I have a running miner right now but seeing a link in the Hashfast thread with an announcement with pictures of an empty box and power supplies is quite odd. Let me say something here. When I first got my miner which was the third week in October it ran rough. Like a car that hasn't been tuned. It needed 10 firmware revisions to get running smoothly. You have to take into account for all that time AFTER you receive your hardware that it's not going to run right when you first get it. You may need to wait a month or more until they pat down a solid firmware. This is a hard thing to follow here, and the only reason is of course curiosity and potential customer, but from what I've seen...Hashfast is just as MIA as KNC is.

KNC are definately doing the right thing, plus their customer support and release of news also betters the competition. http://narrock.com/threads/hashfast-suck.73/ is talking about difficulty with getting customer support to answer questions and as we mentioned before, we have been getting some feedback, but as of recently it seems to have dried out.

Recently we went through the Hashfast customer support and asked about alternative ways to pay for a miner and its been well over 5 days now and still no reply.

There are 2 things every Asic manufacturer must do.

-- Talk to their customer
-- Release information, even if it means sending demo rigs out to reliable testers

Apart from KNC and (I hate to say it) BFL have done just that. KNC release plenty of info and their customer support isnt too bad. BFL sent out demo equipment to users "codinginmysleep" and others, which confirms hardware. BFL and KNC also have forums, which can be risky, but at least it lets their users discuss issues directly within the site. You have to give them credit for that
