Any luck getting an answer?

I'm having similar issues and it's preventing me from mining! I really don't want to uninstall and reinstall, I'm scared I'll lose all my "shares" if i do that.

You should not lose any shares reinstalling the miner, those are associated with the login creds you use for the pool. If you try using cgminer I might be able to help, I havent used Guiminer in ages.
