What does the flag do that i have to put on guiminer

i'm mining in Slush's pool and i have the flag added on to the miner, not sure why but it said add it.
-v -w128 -f60

V tells it to mine using vectors which is faster on most radeon cards
W is worksize
F is frames a sec
