I think the Middle East in general is a flashpoint for a potential world war. The rhetoric coming out of Washington, Riyadh, Moscow is very reminiscent of the Cold War era. I have my doubts about the recent syria attack. At first aim was under the impression that this would be all out war but the strikes seem to have done little damage. I wonder if this was to unnerve the North Korean leader? The attack of syria just didn't make any sense and general matis for the USA knows all about Saudi funding of isis to take down assad. Physical wars can be quite expensive, in terms of money and manpower. The Russians were not interested in it, and therefore they resorted to indirect war in terms of sanctions and embargoes. And it worked in the end.
