Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I am still using mew and i dont login with my private key. I login with my keystore file.
It is more safe way how to login to your wallet, but if your computer is infected, it will not help you, so be careful!

Now I really want to improve the security of my wallet. Also I'm thinking of creating one more wallet for not everyday transactions.

I will continue to use mew because i never had any problems with the wallet. The past hack was not good, but it was not the first hack in crypto world.

With the recent hack, I assume a lot of people will switch to something else, what do you think?

I still recommend using a hardware wallet over the safety benefits though.

I'm using Mycrypto. This is an analogue of MEW with one difference, it has not yet been hacked. I am happy and at least I can sleep peacefully.

I have never used my ether wallet till now. Mostly I`m afraid that my passphrase may be hacked or I might be redirected using DNS attack or fall for phising attacks .

Getting a hardware wallet when accessing your tokens rather than using MEW is the best option. But when you still cant afford buying a hardware wallet, you can still use MEW but always be careful when visiting on it. Make sure you visit the correct url, and for further security its best to link it on Metamask since metamask is a hack proof.

Yes, I still use MyEtherWallet, but have not done any transfers since the hack. Although I do use MEW's website directly to check balances (I always verify the certificate even if I have it bookmarked), most of times I use MetaMask as well. Hoping to get a Ledger or a Trezor soon.

Off course i am using it because it is secure and easy in use and second simultaneously there is also no any other alternative solution of this account.
But now from few days we are hear about hacking of this account which is very serious issue for all peoples who deposit there coins in this Mew account.
So now it is better that you also protect this account with hardware wallet until they not protected Mew site and accounts with Google Authentication.

MEW is good wallet. It is secure if you really know. How to secure your MEW. first, create wallet and save the JSON file. remember your pasword. then downlod metamask at your browser, if you want to more secure browser you can use brave browser from BAT. Metamask is already install with brave. Create metamask acccount don;t forget to keep or save securely the pharaprase and pasword. Once you want to login to MEW use metamask by connect metamask. then import your wallet with json file via metamask. It is secure mew.

After the hacking scandal I do not use MEW anymore. I think MyCrypto.com (MEW fork) will not do the same mistakes. Anyway it seems web wallet are not so safe in the end, the best solution is always an official client wallet where you and only you own your private key. In this case the only risk is that you could be hacked, but always better than trusting in DNS\website hosts failures. While using MyCrypto always remember to backup your encrypted .json file and keep for you the private key. Then login with Metamask (one of the reccomended method).

No. I use metamack. Two gues I know had their tokens taken away a few days ago. They came together only for forkdelta, the remaining sites all had different.

MEW, in my opinion, is the most convenient wallet in their use, let alone during the most secure wallet MEW in keeping the coin. MEW and Rover are rare in people or committed theft of coins stored in MEW. As long as we can keep the private key secure and no one else knows.

If there is an alternative, many users will use it. So far, everything will remain the same, because there is no choice.
