Ok so I read about the guy in Europe who bought $27 worth of Bitcoin 2 years ago which now equals over $1 million dollars(imagine forgetting the wallet password and being not able to retrieve= Suicidal Thoughts Maybe? LOL) Ok so what I was wondering if I made a $1000 investment in Litecoin today and it was to follow same price Trends of Bitecoin How much would that investment be worth in 2 years or so?

2 years? may go up 10x maybe more or not at all or lose 100%

the early gains you've seen in the media are pretty much over. it's already "factored" into the price.
there's a good chance you'll have more value than you put into it today though.

ok

i would not recommend you to not purchase entirely litecoin. instead i would recommend you to use $1k to purchase 1 bitcoin ($700), 50-100 peercoin ($60-$120), 20 primecoin ($17), and then perhaps spend the rest on LTC.

ltc would be the last thing i would buy though. i would suggest just spend the extra on bitcoin.

Noone knows, but I doubt it will be such easy to turn $1000 to $1 million, no matter what coin you choose  Smiley

And just because litecoin is at $8 each does not mean it has more room for growth than Bitcoin

Index your litecoin expectations to bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the first-mover with the big network effect. Litecoin (at least currently) offers no meaningful technical advantages, but it has 4x the supply. Thus, the upper-bound, even if litecoin succeeds in being "silver to bitcoin's gold" is that it'll be worth 0.25BTC. But that's if they both achieve the same popularity/market-cap. I think you have to drop litecoin's upper bound by *at least* an order of magnitude to account for the fact that bitcoin's network effect is overwhelming when talking about a contender that offers no real technical advantages.

So that takes us to 0.025BTC per LTC as a reasonable upper bound.

And as untested as bitcoin is, both technically and economically, litecoin is even more so, so throw that additional risk into the mix too...

Bitcoin is the first monetary system to credibly offer perfect information to all economic participants.

Don't buy litecoin. It will be worthless.

Just buy bitcoin. Litecoin can never overtake bitcoin because it isn't any better than bitcoin and bitcoin was there first.

LTC's marketcap is just 2,5% of bitcoin so if BTC can't keep it's current domination of the crypto market (>95%) altcoins will outperform it. I doubt it will.

Making predicions on where BTC/LTC/etc will be are impossible, but I belive it's currently very expensive to buy into. It's impossible to say though and timing the cryptomarket is suicide. Whatever you choose to buy it would be far better to split up your initial investment and spend 100$ each month untill you have spend your money.

The thing about LTC is that it's spurring a new generation of GPU miners that are buying and hoarding it, much the same as with BTC two years ago. LTC supply halving is also happening in less than two years.  These two things alone will be likely be enough to ensure the longevity of LTC.

I think we will see prices well into the double digit USD in the next 2-3 years, with volatility similar to bitcoin for 2011-2012.

The way to get rich in crypto is to just buy one that is heavily adopted (BTC/LTC), stick your coins in a cold wallet, and come back in a few years during which you completely ignore the market.
