Nice!  I wish I had mined from the start..i'd have enough for a trip to space.  Amazing.  I'm guessing Richard Branson fully supports BTC and is looking to get into the game!

I just need to the price to hit $7500 and I am on my way to the stars! Smiley

Also this is the most epic news in a while, on the official site Sir Richard Branson officially states he has some money invested in Bitcoins and thinks this is a great technology. That is a HUGE endorsement and if this news spreads more could get a lot more big wigs interested finally.

Branson associating Bitcoin with a service that only the very rich are capable of affording. Interesting move, Branson.

Bitcoin is for the rich! I guess it's better than Bitcoin is for gun-nuts, drug dealers and terrorists. And African warlord dictators.

I also like the strong association with Mark Shuttleworth, Bitcoin entrepreneurs or early adopters going to space just like the Internet entrepreneurs.

Additionally, very bullish news.

Want a discount on Virgin Galactic?

1. Send your $200,000 to your local bitcoin exchange
2. Watch the market go wild as you eat $200,000 out of the ask wall
3. Bitcoin you bought accumulates in value
4. Send $200,000 worth to Branson for a ticket on Virgin Galactic
5. Profit

Finally, an underpants-gnome scheme that actually works!  Cheesy

Brilliant idea. However I doubt 200K order can buy you much discount nowadays. Try 20M.

Maybe some one should organize a millionaire group buy program?  Cheesy

Virgin Galactic goes bankrupt (they haven't had an actual flight yet)
You end up missing 200k usd.
Me thanks you very much Cheesy for skyrocketing the bitcoin price.

Cool, cool, very cool!

Spaceship two is getting towards final stages of testing ... http://www.space.com/22660-virgin-galactic-spaceshiptwo-rocket-test.html ... this is real and happening, Burt Ratan is a great engineer and Branson is a visionary entrepreneur, there are not many better endorsements from 'establishment' wealth I would want than this one.

And to note Branson has had a long history with trying to break into the banking cartels turf ... if it might matter at all.

Branson is generally accepted as one of the most successful entrepreneurs/businessman of our time; to have his personal endorsement of bitcoin is huge.  It's probably the most meaningful single endorsement so far.

I'd agree, he's rich for a reason - he takes risks others shy away from, and judges those risks CORRECTLY. Him endorsing Bitcoin just says he's done his homework and finds the underlying risks to be acceptable. I'd be sitting up and taking notice if I were responsible for managing large sums of money, not only have the Venture Capitalists jumped in, but one of the richest men on the planet.

But of course, when we fall from the sky of this exponential rally - I'm sure all the online publications will declare Bitcoin "dead" again. Just like they did last time. Its really hard to get these people to see outside their little box.
