Patrick Murck, General Counsel of the Bitcoin Foundation, announced the 2014 Conference in his November 18th, 2013 written testimony to the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

For more insite into how the foundation operates and spends membership fees read this interesting background story on the Foundations impressive efforts in Washington leading up to the hearings.

Congratulations Patrick, Gavin and all involved.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

"International Bitcoin Conference Amsterdam 2014, three days of Bitcoin. From tuesday, wednesday and thursday 18th to 20th of march Science Park Amsterdam"

So the dates in the topic-title changed or it is another conference.

Donations are always welcome :-)

There needs to be a BTC conference in Los Angeles so I can go to it.

Travel to Holland is pretty easy and it is a good place for conferences.

I can assist with organizing in LA in needed, there are plenty of folks.  We have a large bitcoin population here, some of the Meetups are 200+ and turning folks away at the door if you aren't there early.

This seems to be a different event. Smiley

The San Jose 2013 Bitcoin Foundation conference was not a closed event in that non-foundation members outnumbered foundation attendees, though the sign-up booth was pretty busy.

Is this the official thread for the may 2014 conference? Are the conference organizers reading this thread?

I'd like to know what is and what is not included in the ticket price. Also, if a hotel room is included, I'd like to know if it is possible to get a cheaper ticket without hotel booking included.

The "official" thread is likely to be found within TBF forum.

To the extent that these conventions also do outreach and membership drives and bring more folks into TBF, this would be that thread.
So...  join for the official, or hang out here with the rest of us "potential recruitables".

http://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin/nodes-active/ Netherlands is 9th on the list with 249 full nodes 8.9% of the number one on the list the US with 2787 full nodes while having only 5% of the population. Weighted by total inhabitants of the country the Netherlands is first on this list. Seems like reason enough to host it in the Netherlands.

That list showing nodes means the IP addresses from which bitcoin is mined?  Less than 7500 in the whole world?

No people running full nodes.
