What payment processor is CheapAir using?  It seems like they might have an in-house solution.

Great news, but it seems they only offer American domestic flights. I had sorry pop-up messages when checking for international flights.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

They use coinbase API if my memory serves me correctly.  Pretty slick, I've used it twice so far.  Haven't done International flight but should be booking one in the coming months.. will report back if any issues.

Try the link below for international fares.

https://btctrip.com/

I have checked them before and their fares are very competitive, using BTC, when checking an airline's site.

I do not live in the USA so CheapAir is not an option for me.

Now if only RyanAir and other cheap foreign airlines can do the same, I'd be set!

I wonder if Branson will accept them on Virgin Atlantic flights since you can buy a ticket to space on Virgin Galactic, but I guess that's more of a niche ticket so he can afford the gamble Grin.

I'd bet it won't be long before he adopts it. It seems like the sort of thing he'd be interested in blazing a trail with.

Yeah, but he's got a board and other members to please. He only owns 51% of VA now.

Ah really. Didn't know that. Yeah I suppose it would take a lot of convincing. But the case studies from Tiger and Overstock can only help with that.

I have just checked it as well, and it seems I need to pay nearly 20% more using bitcoin. Sad

Requires timing of the bitcoin price but I guess that is no consolation to someone wanting a flight asap

I hope you're comparing the BTC:USD conversion to BitStamp and not Gox.  Nobody seriously uses Gox for USD exchange rates.

Of course, I understand  mtgox USD rate is irrelevant unless the fiat withdrawal problem is solved.

EDIT: I re-checked my calculation, and found that I forgot to add the taxes and fees to the basic fare lol.
Sorry for my silly mistake. Tongue
