Hi,

I am looking to get in on this BTC crazyness an was wondering if there are any rough patterns as to the price, for example has there been a drop on the weekend over the past few weeks etc.  Do the prices drop or rise on a daily basis based on time, for example when china wakes up.

Any observations about patterns would be appreciated.

Regards!

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Weekends is one. Usually price falls on Fridays and goes up on Sundays. Don't know why because exchanges are open 24/7.

If there are any recognizable patterns, they change relatively quickly over time as they're exploited.  The only reliable pattern is growth, overshoot, correct, stabilize, growth...

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

I'm sure there are computer programs from big financial firms day trading it already.  Forget about trying to time it.

It goes up when there are news. It goes down after some negative news, a bit. Then it goes back up.

Over the long term, it will keep going up.

I'm pretty sure that we already have a fair amount of bots trading, so it is pointless to try and time things, most of the time.

fiatleak.com offers a unique insight to daily patterns.  Look for China to be the main player when the sun shines there, and US to be the main player when the sun shines there.  All others are pretenders to the throne.  When the sun shines on China, price movement up is robust.  Otherwise, lackadaisical.  US early adopters may be cashing in their chips already.  But the Wall Street money is not far from the horizon.
