Hi all,

I've recently become more active and educated (hopefully!) about Bitcoins and crypto-currencies in general, and so I thought I knew what I was getting into when going for a mining rig. I'd decided on the Avalon 4 module: http://avalon-asics.com/product/avalon-4-module-unit-gen1/ .

I did my research: they are a highly regarded company and with the recent price drop due to difficulty increase I thought they were a great deal, so I went ahead and ordered one.

I went to go pay and sent my bitcoins to the wallet address that first came up. Then I went to verify that the transaction was acknowledged (the only way I could see to do this was clicking "pay" again), and it looks like another wallet address was generated. Subsequent testing showed this to be the case.

Sooo... I've had no confirmation that the order went through. I was in the local Bitcoin store here when I did the transaction and they were also looking at the units, but ordered after me. They received their confirmation before I left.

That was two days ago. I contacted their support that day and every day since with as much detail as I could provide, and the only response I have gotten so far is with their automated mailer bot (when I first sent in the request). Does anyone else have experience with this or any tips for me? At this point I don't care about getting the equipment, even a refund would do. I did a search and the only non-responsiveness I have seen has been in regards to chip shipments.

I would really appreciate any help I can get.

Sorry for the rant, but 3.5 BTC is kind of a "freaking out now" amount to just lose. Embarrassed

Thanks!

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I still haven't heard back from Avalon, I'd like to bump and offer .03 BTC reward for anyone who can put me in contact with someone at Avalon who might be able to help me (not sure if possible, but I'm growing more concerned every day I don't hear back).

I went ahead and cancelled my order on Saturday and I haven't received my payment back.

If anyone from Avalon is around I'd also pay the reward to you at this point.

Thanks!

Fairly standard questions are
1.  What address did you pay?
2.  What is the transaction ID?
3.  What address held the funds before you paid?

Do you know either of those answers?

I try to be respectful and informed.

I used the info that you gave, and found this transaction.

If you can sign a message with the address 14S3162Qro2AV1yuJdHdn6Xgy2EPb5FXcw, it will make a very strong case that you did indeed send those funds, and not someone else.

I try to be respectful and informed.

Thanks.

Hi Lighto98 ,

From the OP, I'm not sure exactly what it is you're asking or.  Could you restate it a little clearer?  Perhaps I can help?

Hi Bill,

To sum up my request: I would like to get in contact with someone from Avalon, hopefully someone who can work with me to get a refund.

Basically, I went to order a machine from the Avalon asics website. Every time you hit "Pay", it generates a new Bitcoin Address for you to send payment to. I didn't know this, and there were no clear instructions on the site. I think this is why I didn't get refunded by their automated system when I cancelled the order (you can test this yourself by going to their site and trying to order something).

But I sent payment, and I have proof that I own the account the coins were sent from in the posts above.

It's been a little frustrating trying to get in contact with anyone from Avalon, as my multiple emails have not been responded to yet, and there is no phone number on their website.

Right now I'm about $3500 in the hole as a result  Sad

Thanks!
