What exchange do you guys recommend? I'm looking for a most "mainstream" one, e.i. I don't care about anonymity and intend to pay taxes on my bitcoin earnings. I'm looking to be able to withdraw both BTC and USD without the transaction taking longer than a month, or worrying that the exchange might decide to "loose" my money due to a "technical glitch". I live in the US.

I personally use BTC-E, no problems so far, but I have not tried the others, so I cannot compare.

Not Btc-e, their support was recently hacked, which caused me to lose 1.4 bitcoin and 181 xpm.

-horrible support, plus they are based in Russia.

Not all those who wander are lost.

Yes, I'd love to know too... That's the issue. I hear different things about different exchanges. I almost went with Mt. Gox (good job I held off). BTC-e looked great, but know I'm starting to hear various things. Just don't know what's best

I have been using Bitstamp.

It's on the top 3 for volume of the main pair.
It is pretty good for SEPA space (Europe).

"Funny" orderbook.
0.5% Fee
Growth pains.

Yeah those verifications processes mean all your confidential details are in someones hand that you don't even know... and they get hacked constantly.
