I had an account set up for me in 2011 and from what I can remember it was on Blockchain. Theres a chance that the person that set it up for me used one of their emails instead of mine and forwarded the info to me. Since then those domains and email accounts have shut down and are no longer active.

What happens to the Blockchain request if the account was set up with one of hose emails but they no longer exist? Would the wallet identifier not be retrievable? If I were to setup the domains again with the same emails would Blockchain's reminder then go thru?

The emails just don't go through.

It probably would. But keep in mind that this is only helpful if you know your wallet passwort, since you would need the 12 word seed to restore the wallet without the password.

The emails just don't go through.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. What would happen on Blockchain's end when I gave them these emails to search? Would they see that there was an email that created the account and be able to retrieve my id or would it come back as never being created because the email is now gone?

Your old ID should be still inside their database, they can confirm that an account exists under your old email address, but probably wouldn't be able to restore it or disclose any information due to privacy concern.
How much do you have stored inside that address?
If you still have the 12 words seed you still be able to recover your wallet even if your old email were long gone.

blockchain.info wouldn't know if the email address is no longer valid, even if bounced they wouldn't mark it so
if you have your 12 word recovery phrase, you should just recover it and set up a new account
but wait,... you said 2011? I don't think the 12 word seed existed for bc.info HD wallet at that time, cmiiw
like TryNinja said, retrieving your Wallet ID would be useless if you don't remember your wallet password

They will check if there is any account with that email, and if there is, they will send an email with the wallet ID.

If you have access to that email, you will receive the message.
If the email isn't valid, nothing will happen.

Thanks for all the responses. I do remember my password but I don't have a wallet id to go with it. So far Blockchain support has been unable to help me locate my id. I clearly remember using the Blockchain interface from 2011. I remember the layout with the country flags, cash into coins button, gyft button and qr code at the bottom left. It's the only one that stands out to me. I remember having to set up the 12 word recovery seed and I vaguely remember getting sms text messages to verify. I also remember the person setting it up for me having to download the Blockchain to his computer (but not mine) to transfer the coins to me.

Would I have been able to get to that Blockchain page with a different wallet that was just on my computer? Would that wallet still have me do the 12 word recovery seed and sms verifications? Everything was set up for me no later than nov. 2011.

Thanks everyone for helping with this. It's driving me absolutely crazy!

as I said before and if I remember it correctly, in 2011 bc.info doesn't have HD wallet with 12 word seed
I created my bc.info account back in 2014 and I get something called "Wallet Recovery Mnemonic"
mine was 18 words long, this is not anything like the current "12 word recovery phrase" that each bc.info wallet has now
officially in 2016 (cmiw) they upgraded/changed their wallet system and introduced HD wallet

you might want to try remember again (which wallet you used) and/or find your 12 word seed
is your wallet contain significant amount of bitcoin? If not, just let it go and create a new one

If you can get the Wallet ID and password, you can login to your bc.info old wallet and won't be asked for recovery phrase
in fact since you have old (legacy) bc.info non-HD wallet, your wallet will be automatically upgraded to new HD Wallet
and then they will set up a new "12 word recovery phrase" for you to save (write down) as your backup

This might be helpful --- https://github.com/OmniLayer/omniwallet/wiki/Exporting-Private-Key-from-Blockchain.info-and-Importing-to-Omniwallet.org

It explains :

1. How to export your Private key from Blockchain.info so you can import it into Omniwallet.org.
2. For Blockchain.info addresses imported into the New Blockchain.info Wallet from Blockchain.info's Classic Wallets
3. For Blockchain.info Classic Wallets

The length of the recovery seed might pose a bit of a challenge, but no harm in trying.  Huh Good Luck. ^smile^

'it was not a Seed and it could only be used to recover the "password" instead which is why it was called "Wallet Recovery Phrase"'
I think you got it mixed-up, unless I misread or misunderstood that part of your sentence
my "18 word" is not a seed and called a "Wallet Recovery Mnemonic" (not phrase) by bc.info, for recovering password
they used the word Mnemonic for password reminder, not for seeding wallet as common use now
here's what I've written down exactly as shown when I created my wallet (Legacy Wallet)
Quote
Wallet Recovery Mnemonic
Your wallet has been created successfully. If you forget the details the phrase below can be used to recover everything.
Please Write Down the Following:
*** *** ***
Do not save the mnemonic on your PC or in your email drafts! Write it down or print it!
Without the mnemonic we cannot help recover forgotten passwords and will result in LOSS of ALL of your bitcoins!.

The current one is called "12 word recovery phrase" and it works as wallet seed to recover HD wallet private keys
currently they can send email reminder of lost Wallet ID but they can't recover your password
and the only way to recover your wallet is by using the 12 word phrase and the system won't accept more/less words

bc.info started to use this "12 word recovery phrase" in 2016,
since then all legacy wallets are automatically upgraded/converted to HD wallets
that's why I believe if he has "12 word recovery seed" and done this in 2011, it couldn't be bc.info
it's either he remembers the words length incorrectly or he didn't sign up on blockchain.info

easy way, he should try entering his email in the wallet id reminder,
if bc.info acknowledges and processes the request, then he has an account on blockchain.info

Blockchain do really have that record when it comes to that identifier or the account being used of an specific email address but im sure they wont able to give you on the thing you are requesting on which you would tried up to recover an account whose email is lost and cant really be no longer accessed and as being part of their privacy rules too.Even though you didnt able to access the email but you do have the paraphrase on which blockchain do give then you do still have the chance on recovering that account.I presume theres a good amount on that wallet since you are eager to retrieve it.

that is what i was saying too. but i was assuming 18-words was also a part of new version of their wallet which produced seed (which you could use to recover your private keys) i know the previous one which had 20-words was for "password reminder", so apparently the 18-words one is also like that.
