The metal one I posted a link to was made by Solidconcepts.  It uses metal sintering, basically a laser that follows metal powder, which melts it to the rest of the structure.  The metal one is totally legit and was printed last month.

Yes, but the heavy plastic ones can fire like a 9MM, and are not metal detectable.

Is that so? I thought the firing pin and spring were still made of normal metals so it could be still detected. Did I miss something?

Yes, but there is not enough metal to actually be detected. Like a metal button on jeans doesn't set off the detector.

Most 3D printers on the market r cheap and not that precise for things like guns, and other detailed items.
If you google it you will see what im talking about.
But this tech is for everyone and thats what i like to see.
U watch, once 3d printers will do something against goverment they will try to ban it or regulate it.

Well, they're already used to print guns, especially the ones you can get from TOR, but they're still a round for now.

Nope, these printers just do things automatically you could make yourselves manually with a lot of patience. But regulating, obviously

It should be able to do anything any other stereolithographic resin printer, like the Form1, can do.  It just uses some creative means to cut down on the components e.g. aiming the laser beam with mirrors rather than physically moving the laser (allowing them to cut out the expensive precision stepper motors), using a slowly-filling tank of water rather than a moving platform to control the z-axis (removes another stepper motor), using a soundcard for digital-to-analog conversion (removes the need for a microcontroller), etc.

In particular, this little show-off of some prints may interest you, as well as this video of their "what happens if we..." testing.

They're still improving it.  These are the result of their 22nd prototype of the printer and they're currently working on the 23rd, which will correct some short comings of the current one, for example, that string in the vase print should go away with the blanking circuit (which will allow them to shut off the laser) they'll be adding.

Shoes printing instead, I was not very impressed, I doubt you can even use these shoes, looks more like fashion model shoes

Here is another subject near and dear to my heart!

I personally have a Makerbot 3d printer on my desk, it's pretty awesome if I do say so!

I actually made some 3/4" "corner" pieces for my LTC GPU rig, with fancy BTC symbol on it (terrible pics can't see the BTC symbol to well).

I see a lot of potential in the 3D printing vertical and am in the process of starting up a business which we will be purchasing a 3D systems ProJet 660, powder bed full colour printer, can print approx. 6 million colours.  I am hoping we can order and take delivery and be set up early in 2014.

Yup, all the black pieces I printed, they all have the BTC symbol on them and they actually look pretty cool but the lighting and my playbook combo took really shitty pictures.  I made 3 way corners, 90 degree elbows and a T connector (T connector is different than the 3 way corner).  All designed to fit loosely over 3/4" square tube.  Once I had it all together I squared it up and tightened it with little brass screws.

That pic is just a mock up and not in its installed location. So the PSU doesn't actually sit there, in fact to keep the heat form the PSU away from the cards and vice versa I have it secured to the top of the rig, pulling air in the "back side" of it and expelling hot air out the top.
