I think that the main reasons are:

I agree on this, it should be clear to every gambler that its just for entertainment, dont take it seriously and sell your house and lot to recover you losses. That's the real situation that it's harder to focused when you have tasted the spoon of victory. The solution you gave is effective if the gambler will follow it but sometimes it's hard to think of taking a break and chill for awhile. Why? Its really easy to win in sportbooks however, there that element of luck that is involved as well. And even you are really good in analyzing each and every game anything can happen and you really thought you already won, sometimes in just a fraction of a second, everything changes making you lose your bet.
