https://themerkle.com/poloniex-will-not-support-monerov-and-will-disable-monero-transactions-on-monday/

Whether its because of Monero's heavy association with background mining, North Korea/terrorism, pedophilia cams/other dark market activity, the surprising number of forks the coin keeps enduring, or because it's been long overdue anyway, Polo will finally stop supporting Monero. I guess this means they will finally shut down all their XMR base pairs as well, as its always looked ridiculous and I don't understand how they ever got roped into such a maneuver (manure?) in the first place.

Manuroheads, sorry for your losses, but you best cash out now. I mean unless you insist on funding your vices and illegal activities through a process you believe in your heart to be "truly anonymous" Cheesy Cheesy  . Polo is owned by Wall Street now and if you think they want to run the risk of the heat coming down on them generated by your perverted userbase, you're sorely mistaken.

Yes, unfortunately, this is very bad news for Monero. The rate of this currency has already begun to react negatively. Poloniex is a popular exchange, I hope she will change her mind and return Monero.

Polo is no longer as popular as it once was and its popularity keeps on declining as other new exchanges come along with better everything such as Binance!
and i don't think they will ever bring back Monero, it is the fear that led them to de-list it and it was possibly because of fear of some 3 letter agencies since they are based in USA Wink

Lol. True b. And the newfound fear is thanks to the recent Circle acquisition:

Well, look at who owns polo ... its wall street driven. Monero has a negative touch due to the fact its a very common form of payment in the darknet. So I guess the wall street guys dont want to get connected with supporting a darknet coin - To be honest, they would have to cancel BTC traiding pairs then as well.

OP is fake news and Polo isn't dropping support for xmr.  Don't let nudilah the Dash shill bamboozle you with his endless propaganda war against Manoro.

Wall Street wants and needs fungibility and privacy as much or more than everybody else.  Think about how much proprietary information is leaked though blockchain metadata and how that could impact a Wall Street company's profit margins.

The Polo has already left their best days behind. There will not be a huge loss for the future and for the XMR. However, XMR still has to think about what it is doing wrong. There is no going back, but there is no forward.

First up this is a necromantic thread.
If it where to be the case it would be an honor

If this news is true, I think this will be one of the sad news for monero users in general. But I am also confused if this news is only news that has no truth. Because I read comments that differed above. Then how should I believe? Huh And one way to find out this news is to leave it and the situation will answer the real situation.

Sadly, as monero is becoming illegal in many countries, we will probably see news like that a lot more often .

This maybe an opportunity for bitcoin mixers. However they may be next target.. I hope not.

Have you:

2. completely lost your mind?

So are you getting paid for your multi-year long smear campaign against Monaroh? If not, whew buddy, your obsession is psychotic. Its nonsensical. Wink

How did you forget to spell Monero correctly? My caption was correct at the time: Poloniex was considering dropping Monero altogether because of their many forks complicating things and the fact that its primarily used for illegal activities. Did it turn out to be true? Obviously they changed their minds, and there's too much in trading fees for them to collect to drop it.

Its quite bizarre that you would bump this thread after almost a year of dormancy. You also bumped a lot of other dead threads I commented on recently. Don't think I'm the one with the obsession problem.

"Negative Trust Feedback incoming." Oh NO! Your feedback means _so much_ to the community, how will I ever live with myself  Roll Eyes

With such a high capitalization, Monero now has low liquidity in the trading market. But the community has this big coin.

Poloniex don't want to support monero because its a privacy 'darknet' coin and since the wall streets is involved with poloniex they have no choice than to exclude xmr but monero is one of the best out there it makes no sense at all

The high number of hard-forks are poor shots of some people to do quick coins. Nobody cares for it.

I think the main reason is that Poloniex is US Wall Street owned now and Monero is a truly anonymous crypto.

Monero is one of those coins that is totally misunderstood and also used totally in the wrong ways. They came out because they were tired of governments watching them like 1984 style and wanted to be financially free from their grasps and want to build their own bank without being watched constantly and tracked. Look at your credit card bill and calculate what you spend most money on and check the text message ads you get, most of them are the things you spend money on.

Monero came out to prevent these type of things. Instead it became the coin for darknet stuff and illegal stuff because when given the chance of not being tracked at all there was no other better use than bad people using it to do shady stuff without being caught by anyone. Something so simple that was wanted turned out to be used in something so horrible. I really feel sad about it.

From a philosophical perspective, a crypto currency being outlawed by a government or corporate conglomerate should be viewed as a

badge of honor and only help bolster the legitimacy and functionality of said currency among the liberated individuals.

Well I don't know about that, but you can bet your buttons Monero's usage is being monitored extra closely by government agencies. Japan went so far as to ban it outright:
