Bitcoin caught mainstream attention when it grew from below $1,000 to nearly $20,000 in 2017. It not only gave tremendous profits to its investors but also opened the gates for numerous other cryptocurrencies.
Many of these cryptocurrencies have also performed extremely well in the past and perhaps provide a good Bitcoin alternative. In fact, some currencies like Litecoin and Ethereum have given returns of more than 12000% in 2017!
Undoubtedly, Bitcoin is still the king of cryptocurrencies but there are many Bitcoin competitors out there which are worth exploring as Bitcoin alternative.

Yes bitcoin is the epitome of what's called cryptocurrency today and since it leading in it's blockchain system, a lot of other bitcoin alternatives have we seen in the market trying to surpass what great bitcoin has done but still yet they can't and won't beat bitcoin.

I do not think there is any Altcoin trying to surpass the bitcoin,infact there is no alt close to doing that in no certain terms. Price,volume,stability etc the bitcoin is more reliable in all that and many more. Most Altcoins are just shipped out and more often than not end up being one shitcoin or the other,only very few are worthwhile,for example the ethereum. We'll never see an Altcoin surpassing the bitcoin,at least not at this moment |

bitcoin is pure crypto that can be used as a primary payment tool if crypto is accepted as a means of payment. everyone will only focus on bitcoin, not alternative bitcoin. others are just supporters.

Bitcoin is more suitable for the title “The origin of crypto” rather than “King” of crypto because not all alts are going to bow down to bitcoin. Ethereum is one of the example and the centralized coins in the market. Although all alts are the alternative of bitcoin but it doesnt mean that all alts are going to be attached on bitcoin. Anyway i dont understand what is your point on this topic.  many projects and altcoins will continue to arrive using the blockchain system. with the various innovations they bring, it will be a good alternative for bitcoin, but the king can be replaced? while "The origin of crypto" will continue to be attached to bitcoin |

alternative bitcoin can invest in gold or we can altcoin or indodax like trading and the results are satisfactory not like bitcoin in general, that is my suggestion and it is useful and just in case

I agree that bitcoin is the leader in the market and he will always be the leader in bitcoin there is no alternative as he is the founder of the industry and all altcoins are parallel technologies and each is different from each other.

Yes, of course, remember that bitcoin is based on the technology of the blockchain, so by definition there will be different technologies that use it too, we call alts to the others simply because bitcoin was the first decentralized coin, but that does not take away any value, there are very good coins such as dash or ripple that are always on the lookout for the throne of btc.

That's true but some of them differentiate from BTC with their function and use case. BTC is the first and the biggest coin right now.

I think Litecoin can be considered an alternative to Bitcoin. Litecoin is much less popular than Bitcoin, but I think Laitcoin is a good alternative.

Bitcoin is the first of it's kind and bet it won't always be the king forever ,its the big daddy of cryptocurrency ,father of them all but the king tittle won't last forver as altcoin will snatch that away someday ,blockchain is the best thing to ever happen to this century and I'm sure its just the beginning to a wonderful digital world

Bitcoin alternatives are the same as bitcoin that is why when bitcoin market price increase these alternatives will be affected also and it will eventually follow and will going to have an increase also. THe good thing about this alternative coins is that they can make a huge market price increase than bitcoin. However, it will goes the same when it will going to fall down. This would be risky if you do not have that much knowledge about bitcoin alternatives crypto.

Bitcoin is growing because of the internet that is used for transactions when online. An alternative Bitcoin that has my mind is an alternative coin that is present because bitcoin exists. So bitcoin is the main coin that can grow and give space to existing altcoins.

altcoins will and should die...then the price of btc will go up I can understand what you've said will die. But I can't understand "should" part. Why they should die? If you say there are too much altcoins and most of it shit ones. But not all of them is shit. There are a lot of good project and coin (or token) in market. Bitcoin is one of the greatest but not only one. I like also Ethereum for example. Please be careful a bit. It is not right thing you say! |
