Open Platform,  2018’s most anticipated ICO is embarking on an Asia wide road tour; 5 cities (South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Japan); starting today (April 30th) in Seoul, South Korea. Open Platform is an innovative decentralized consensus mechanism which will allow app/Dapp developers to connect their payment backend systems to the blockchain. Open Platform’s system is completely blockchain agnostic and can process payments in any cryptocurrency, creating new avenues of revenue for app/Dapp developers. This is extremely liberating, considering that currently the major platforms which host apps are totally centralized with high barriers to entry and profitability.

I must commended the team on their choice of starting with Asia for their tour. Unlike the United States, Asia is far ahead concerning blockchain use and adoption. In China, South Korea, and Japan, crypto currencies are widely used and accepted in many retail establishments on and offline. The opportunities in the Asian market are vast and Open Platform is wise to take advantage of them. It would also seem to be wise to try to court developers in this region as soon as possible, for Open to gain rapid adoption and a strong footing in this new field of payment processing.

The team at Open will be in 5 major Asian cities from today. The team will be on the ground evangelising the benefits of using Open Platform’s highly secure, scalable, and easy to use infrastructure.

At each of Open’s 5 stops (which are open to both developers and the general public) the team  will be collecting ideas and information from developers and public about new and cool games/ideas that can be developed on the Open Platform; as well as how to improve on the project overall. At the end of the tour, the three best ideas will receive 250 development hour to have their idea built on the Platform; with support from ZenSoft and paid for by Open Platform. After the 3 chosen ideas are fully developed, marketing for exposure and support will be provided by Open. Winners will be announced in New York at the Consensus 2018 technology summit on May 15th. In addition, to this campaign, the Open Platform team will be having actual airdrops at each event. Yes, OPEN tokens will physically rain down from the sky. This is a very interesting and fun way to gain attention to the project while allowing more people to become participants in the Open Platform community.

As I am in the Tokyo area, I looking forward to this stop the most. However, for those who are lucky enough to be in one of the other four cities, event details are as follows:

Seoul (April 30th, 6:00 PM — 9:00 PM): OPEN Platform is kicking off their roadshow in Seoul, South Korea at the GLAD Hotel.

Hong Kong (May 3rd, 6:00 PM — 9:00 PM): at Mettā, 21/F California Tower, 30–32 D’Aguilar St, Central, HK

Shenzhen (May 4th, 6:00 PM — 9:00 PM): at the Ritz Carlton, 116 Fuhua 3rd Rd, FuTian CBD, Futian Qu, Shenzhen Shi, Guangdong Sheng, China, 518000
Shanghai (May 7th): at the Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong

Hangzhou (May 8th): at the JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou
Tokyo (May 10th): LIFULL Hub

Since the beginning of the Open Platform ICO, the team has wowed us with its’ focus on community outreach. Therefore, this road tour is just more evidence that Open Platform is truly seeking to revolutionize the app/Dapp payment field for the benefit of both developers and customers alike.
