Whats the best paper wallet for litecoins? Is the Github liteaddress.org download from coblee a safe offline generator for creating litecoin paper wallets? And are making them encrypted with a password a safe option or could it be glitched in the system when you want to draw your funds?? Are there any other litecoin paper wallet generators or is this the safest one?  I was also wondering why the blockchain explorers for verifying your address say your paper wallet address made from liteaddress.org doesn't exist in the system? or does it just say that because you haven't added funds to it yet?? I know the blockchain for bitcoins shows your address balance  even though you have never put any bitcoins in it.
Thanks,

What do you mean?
As far as I know, you don't have an online blockchain for LTC where you can check the balance of accounts

Pretty safe with BIP38.

Yes, it's because the address has never been mentioned in the blockchain yet. Once you add funds, it's embedded in the blockchain and sites will be able to find it.

Check it out-- https://github.com/litecoin-project/liteaddress.org ...

So this liteaddress link to download the offline zipfile for generating them is safe?Huh  Smiley please check it out for me anyone? If someone can confirm on this, that it is safe, I will send BTC donations to your address. just leave it in the comment . & is this the only safe paper wallet generator?? btw why does it take so long for BPA38 to load Encrypted paper wallets? is that normal?
And for both litecoin and bitcoin paperwallets is it always safe/better to use BPA38 encryption on them? or do you think it could be a disaster waiting to happen for it to glitch in the system and make them unrecoverable?  Huh
Thanks

Yes, it should be safe. For the sake of paranoia you can run it on a computer that has never been connected to the Internet, or will never be.

Check out brainwallet.org. But AFAIK, you can't make brainwallet.org work smoothly offline (it's not an all-in-one file).

btw why does it take so long for BPA38 to load Encrypted paper wallets? is that normal?

That's because scrypt algorithm is very resource consuming, which makes it impracticable to brute-force.

I personally am planning to use them, but haven't yet. AFAIK, blockchain.info wallet supports BIP38 encrypted private keys already (it prompts you for password when you type it in or scan a QR code). This BIP (bitcoin improvement proposal) has not passed the standard BIP route though. But it seems to me it's not a bad idea and will eventually go mainstream.

  BIP: 38
  Title: Passphrase-protected private key
  Author: Mike Caldwell
Status: Draft (Some confusion applies: The announcements for this never made it to the list, so it hasn't had public discussion)

Well it is currently down and has been for all of today I think. (11/1/15).

Kinda odd. You'd think it would have been fixed or whatever by this point in time. But then again with litecoin rally maybe they had site issues from volume.

Anyway it better be safe. What I use for my paper wallets. (or did guess I will have to look at alternatives..if any?)

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Bung this into google - site:litecointalk.org liteaddress

You may as well get some views from its users.

It's hosted by the litecoin association and was created by LTC's creator so it doesn't get much more legit than that.

I would advise only to use a address website if they are recommended/ endorsed by the coin creator/ team. In the end most sties

If it is a legitimate company why would they hide their address?

If you generate a key offline and don't connect the PC to the internet there is no way for the private keys to leave that machine.

Are you saying generating your own private key offline makes it a safe option has doing it online Huh If that's the case then liteaddress.org  is safe

if liteaddress.org same owner in bitaddres.org
i think is reputable and trust
but is good you only get addres and private key in liteaddres.org not use in there
