The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

That would be my guess. It happened the last time btc was at 1000.

why bidding here, just buy it at an exchange, almost the same price.

Cheaper now at havelock .......... the problem with running a 7-day auction, although I understand why the seller wanted 7 days.

Don't think this is going to reach 0.6 somehow  Wink

whatever the market price in the exchange, the more the period of auction time , the more benefits will seller receive. some bidders may just buy shares at Havelock,  but for the bidders who want to buy 100 more shares, maybe buy direct shares  is a good choice.

reputation is everything.

The exchanges only have a very thin orderbook. So buying/selling some shares can have a high impact on shareprice but this impact doesnt have to say much.

The other thing is that this here are direct shares. You have a contract with friedcat directly. The shares on exchanges are Passthroughshares only. You have a contract with the owner of the shares and this owner has a contract with friedcat. If the owner defaults you have a problem. Or you can get problems like with G.ASICMINER-PT where you dont get dividends now because the owner of the real shares cant access his wallet. With direct shares you are the direct owner.

Update: 1 @ 0.32

You already had this bid for this price. You meant another price?

I dont think it will go to 0.6 too but i think too that people want to cash out because of the high btc-exchange-price. The last div for asicminer yesterday (https://www.havelockinvestments.com/fund.php?symbol=AM1#ui-tabs-3) was 0.00199664BTC per share. If you calculate this *52 weeks you get 0.10382528BTC per week. When the shareprice is normally 25% of the yearly dividend then this should mean the shareprice should be around 0.41530112BTC. So im relatively sure its people cashing out because of $1000 spike...

actually, the 25% yearly dividend is meaningless at this time. we actually just bet if Friecat be back again in the next spring of 2014. I just take the bet, I know it's high risk.  But my cost of BTC is really low, so it's easy to me to take the bet.

reputation is everything.

your cost of BTC is not lower than anyone else, no matter how cheap you got them, they can be sold at same price now.
