I will invest only in coins that have a use or are used in ecommerce in some way..if the masses are coming, why would they invest in something that has no use in the real world that they can see. Someone might invest in facebook or twitter stock, because they can see the business and the model. BTC is getting adoption via merchants and as an alternative to bank wire transfers, Litecoin has a large market cap (not sure about widespread merchant use yet). Primecoin has a reason to exist to solve problems, Tagcoin will have a use as a rewards coin, used by individuals and merchants alike.
So as the alt crypto market spreads outside of it's current techie market, people will look for coins like a stock, look at the fundamentals in the same way as a stock and invest accordingly. I would like to create an altcoin list here that shows a fairly released coin, with actual uses and reasons for it's existence, or a business model planned for it, short of just making the creators a pile of money out of speculation.
Obviously since I created TAG, I am going to add it to this list, but if anyone can help me compile it with references to a list of merchants that people can view, or a business model clearly defined for it, I think it would be useful for newbies to Alt Coins.
