Author Topic: pcie x1 to x16x issue,2 pins burned  (Read 1940 times)

i plugged it
it worked
i reinstalled driver
all fine
switched off computer
switched it on
but fans on video card were on 100%,and 3 secs later
2 pins burned

why could it happened ?:\

hmm looks like at the place just north of those burned area, the two pins are touching, so maybe it shorted? i'm not too sure...

i wrote to the seller ,he said that he know about the problem,so problem resolved , low quality riser :\

Looks like your +3.3v pins got burned.  What PSU are you using?

What kind of graphics card did you attach it to?
Did you forget to attach the PCI-E power cables to the graphics card?

i received them from ebay seller  ynlcabin8,i already received full refund.
i also received same risers from another seller and all fine.
What kind of graphics card did you attach it to?
Did you forget to attach the PCI-E power cables to the graphics card?
msi R5850 ,no i didnt forget to attach pci-e power cables

PS seller said that he know about problem,so it was low quality riser

it is used for 3 months with that 2 cards w/o risers,so i m sure that PSU is fine,problem was with riser


PS there were no problem with x1-x16 risers ,simply connected and it works
