One of these days the US will cut itself off from the world and let it fall apart. It has already started

Oh.. please do that. The world will be a much more peaceful and calmer place to live, without the evil influence of the United States. The Americans have invaded countless third world nations and have sponsored thousands of terrorist organizations including the Taliban in Afghanistan, ISIS in Syria and the AUC in Colombia. Please go away and leave the world in peace.

You say that now. But how many American troops are stationed in your country?

None. I am residing in India and there are no American troops stationed in my country. We don't want any foreign troops here and we know how to take care of our own affairs. The presence of American troops trigger all sorts of social perversities, such as prostitution and drug abuse. Just ask anyone from the Philippines or Japan about these bases.

The goneva convention considers willing human shields as enemy combatives, reguardless of sex or age. If someone willingly hides and supports an enemy they can then be treated as an enemy combatant.

And yes we do have wars, but if not for us everyone I’m eiurope would be speaking German.

We are a warrior country, our whole 200 years of history have been about war. Look at the first 100 years. We fought the British, the French the American Indians and after that we fought each other in a terrible and costly civial war.

I am talking about willing human shields, I am talking about a first major publication that Wikileaks reviled. The footage called "Collateral murder".
You really don't have nothing to debate when you see wounded unarmed children being gunned down from a helicopter.
Really a shit thing to do. Not to mention that US involvement in these things are often (maybe even always, I don't know) unwelcome by the government of those countries (which they technically invade, against the rules of the UN, as Russia and China veto these things).

US is not a warrior country. 200 hundred years can barely be considered history in my opinion. That is nothing compared to thousands of years most countries exist. Those people you fought in the first 100 years either had to come to you literally all the way across the ocean or didn't have more advanced weapons than sticks. There was never a war with American Indians, they were never equipped for war, that was a genocide, just like holocaust was. Poor people never stood a chance and to this day you still call them Indians. They aren't American Indians, they are Americans, you are immigrants and very brutal ones at that.
You still don't give a shit about them.

During those 200 years the rest of the World went through things that your country never saw and never will. Times were only more violent the further you go back and Europe was always the epicenter of it.

PS: US helped only in the last World war. And Europe would not be speaking German now without you. It would take more time to defeat them, of course, and everyone is very grateful for the lives that were saved with US involvement (unfortunately a lot of them were lost in Hiroshima and Nagasaki as well).
Of course battle of Stalingrad was a pretty big deal in defeating the Germans, but there is a lot that US did as well. It was a joint effort, so I wouldn't get that into a debate on who has done more. It is very shitty to get into that and very arrogant to assume that nothing could be done without US. Every super power did a lot there and none of them did majority of the work alone.

Please WW2 Europe was cowering, half of Europe was under German control, millions were getting slaughtered. Russia signed a treaty with Germany, which Germany didnt honor. As far as Japan, well those bombs saved 10X more lives than it costs, on all sides. We have made our peace with Japan over that.

what was done in that video did not violate the rules of war. You forget that they were enemy combatants. If they would have surrendered then they would have been taken into custody and treated for their wounds. They didnt. If an enemy throws down their weapon and runs they are fair game, if they throw down their weapons and surrender they are considered enemy prisoners of war and are treated as such. Besides they dont follow the rules of war why should we?

Also there are super powers, Russia Europe etc and there is the US the most powerful military in the history of the world. Leads the world in culture and freedoms. Leads the world in economy (CA was just listed as the 5th worlds best economy, and CA is just a state not a nation) We went into another country, Pakistan, and assasinated one of their citizens, just miles from one of their military bases and nothing could and will not be done with it.

On September 11 2001 the world shoved a big finger in our face, then get mad when we bit it off. It isnt going to stop until the world is in a smoking pile of ruins, Im ok with that.

You make very interesting statements about human shields and the war. Could you cite excerpts from the convention that allow us to consider civilians participating in a living shield as combatants or war criminals?

The rule is 97 that discusses unwilling human shields only. Each country defines what is a combative and what is a protected citizen. Basically the US and other countries decided that any civilian who takes willing part in a military action is no longer a civilian but an enemy combatant. If they are unwilling then they are protected and the people responsible for putting them there can be charged with war crimes. During the US war with Vietnam,  north Vietnam hid ordinance in plain site around hospitals, schools and major population centers. None were bombed but it started the debate about human shields, none in this example were willing, so they did not bomb the areas.

Think of it this way. A person forced to hide a military leader or sleep near a military target is innocent. They have done nothing wrong and no one expects them to refuse and die. Although a person who willingly does that is no different than a military soldier. They are using their life to thwart the enemy and protect military equipiment, just like a regular soldier does. That makes them no different than any uniformed soldier when it comes to rules of combat. An example would be someone standing in front of a sniper, willingly that is, how is that person any different than the sniper behind them? They both have the same goals.

Here is the US rules in willing human shields. Pay attention to this area.

he US Military Commissions Act (2009) amends Chapter 47A of Title 10 of the United States Code as follows:
Ҥ 950p. Definitions; construction of certain offenses; common circumstances
“(a) DEFINITIONS.—In this subchapter:
“ …
“(2) The term “protected person” means any person entitled to protection under one or more of the [1949] Geneva Conventions, including civilians not taking an active part in hostilities

Willingly protecting military personnel or equipiment is taking part in hostilities.

Link to US article.
https://ihl-databases.icrc.org/customary-ihl/eng/docs/v2_cou_us_rule1

Link to GC rule 97
https://ihl-databases.icrc.org/customary-ihl/eng/docs/v1_rul_rule97

While the practice of considering willing human shields is not in the GC charter, all rules of war set down by a country have to be approved by the GC.

And who told you that India sponsors terrorism around the world? Are you stoned?

Im sorry. I was looking at the wrong table  it said India has bough 15B over the past ten years. Russia is still you biggest supplyer, for now. What we sell anyways is old outdated equipment that we have counter measures for. Only Isreal gets the new stuff. Except for the F22-stealth-raptor, the B2-stealth-bomber and the new stealth blackhawk helocopters. Those we keep for ourselves.

Yes I am stoned, but it doesnt matter. Ask anyone about India and 3 things pop up. Call centers, slum dog millionair and terrorism. Your country is almost like a training ground. You have terrorists on every corner because your government doesnt have the stones to stop it. We have them here, but the minority are religous related. Most of our are crazy people with guns or truck bombs. By showing we arent afraid of war we show other countries that if they sponsor terrorism then they will get the fire and brimstone treatment. Maybe if more countries like India did the same, or allied with the US, it wouldnt be bad for them.

Right now the official US military travel advisory has India as yellow due to crime, terrorism and a possible outbreak of yellow fever. Not the greatest vacation spot.

Also according to your own newspaper in 2016 your government signed a deal with the US where the US can use your shipyards and airbases for refueling, repairs and future combat missions (if needed) right now 60% of out navy is parked in the Indian ocean. Maybe there is hope for you after all. Now you can enjoy the protection of the US, well partial protection. Lets face it, the US isnt afraid to go to war with, against or for another country. In the 90's we protected Kuwait against Iraq, lost a few hundred troops. No big deal on that, we rarely take deaths into account.

Let me break this down.

The American people are a proud people. Benn around 200 years and have risen to the top of the food chain. We accept all faiths, races and creeds. We are a nation of immigrants and enjoy that fact. You have Christan churches next to mosques next to synagogues. You need to understand that we are a warrior race. Thats all we have done for the past 200 years is fight. I know it might sound wrong, but thats all we know. When diplomacy fails we resort to violence because that has always worked in the past. What us angry is that although we bomb other countries, we also do some good. We supply food and medicine to needy countries. We have giant hospital ships ready to go anywhere in the world. We do these things and no government is ever handed a bill and if the situation is bad enough we will put aside what we feel and help. If an enemy got hit with a natural disaster the US government would help any way they can while the US people raised money for food and supplies to be sent. The American public raised millions for Hati, average Americans giving what they can for complete stranger because in the few times we needed it other countries have had our back.

No one thinks or remembers that. They see us as spoiled killers who only love war and not our fellow man. in the mid 1800's we lost 500,000 Americans in a civil war that was over the human rights of others in our country. The average American has the same problems as other, trying to survive. I know American TV and movies portray us as all wealthy, middle class with no morals or scruples. Part of that is true, part is not. In fact we are a god fearing country. Our currency says "in god we trust" every piece of currency.

We troops are a different breed. We are trained and brainwashed to only do 2 things: kill and follow orders. I hate Trump with a passion. H-A-T-E him, but when before I retired from the military he would have only had to point and yell "get them" and I would have went even if it meant my death. So maybe im cynical, maybe dialogs need to be opened, not by the government, but by the people of each country. I wish no country ill will, nor any person without cause. I fought in Iraq, I dont hate Iraq or their people. The opposite is true I wish I could take my family there. I dont know anymore, I jsut wish people from other countries would just once remember the good that our country does and no always bring up the bad. Know what I mean?

The OP is clearly living in the parallel fictional universe which has been created by Hollywood. I don't really see any sense in the people trying to debate with him with arguments pertinent to the real world.

I don't hate the US. I dream of visiting the country before I die but don't have enough money  Grin. Besides skyscrapers and topless bars and other important places, I'd like to go to those places where there are hardly any people on the street; looks quiet and peaceful (at least that's what I see in so many Hollywood movies).

Right now the official US military travel advisory has India as yellow due to crime, terrorism and a possible outbreak of yellow fever. Not the greatest vacation spot.

Partly true and it depends on which part of India you visit.

Seems the haters are everywhere. People that have never visited the US nor have ever known anything about her except from American television sure have some opinions. One of these days the US will cut itself off from the world and let it fall apart. It has already started

We have been devaluing the dollar, we don’t care because once pulled from the world market it’s value outside the US will be meaningless.

We are almost to the point, another 20 years, where we will supply our own oil.

We grow enough food to feed every man woman and child in this country.

We have started closing military bases overseas.

The writing is on the wall, question is if we did pull from the world stage how much of the world would be civilized 10 years after?

Dude, your just another love america and ignorant of anything negative that my country does type people. People like you are one of the reasons many people hold the negative opinion of america.

Don't get me wrong there are many great things in america and many opportunities you can't get anywhere else, but don't be blind to what the bad things as well.

Every country has it's positives and negatives it's just america makes itself known everywhere, so a lot of people have a lot of opinions about us.

I have nothing against US at all,and i prefer you over  Russia or China, but your military industry will never allow that, for you to isolate yourself. They are making too much money for that to stop.

Oh.. please do that.

Think you need to proof your alligations. What about the support the US offered to those countries?

We cut foreign aid this year by almost half. That fat boy in North Korea isn’t getting any which he is ytying by playing nice. His father did the same thing. Stop the nuclear program for aid and once that runs out start back up again and repeat. Problem is we won’t give him any money anymore.

I love America with all my heart, and I really do believe it to be the greatest country on Earth. That being said; I don't blame other countries for hating us. We worship money and waste tons while people starve and/or watch people get bombed by our massive military budget.

Yes but people forget that the wold heath organization is mostly funded by the US same for Doctors Without Borders. We fund the entire CDC which helps world wide. We are the biggest contributor to the UN. We deploy troops to any country that needs help. The world seems to forget good things like that

Wherever the USA is messing around, that country ends up in deep shit. Thriving countries like Iraq, Lybia, Ukraine have been turned into failed states after US bombs or interference. Syria has been destroyed by their proxy army in disguise. European countires are forced into demolishing their good relations with Russia.
All of this does obviously not make the USA be more loved around the world.

Lol iraq was never thriving. Their country hadsanctions on them for decades before the war and their economy was i the toilet, I have been to Iraq I seen that first hand. Before the wa the exchange rate was 1 million Iraqi Denar to 1 US dollar, not exactly a booming economy. Russia invaded Ukraine, not the US. Also in Syria Russia is bombing civilian targets, the US is bmbing military only. Your Russian aren’t you?

P.S no one likes Russia. That’s includes China. No one has spoken a word in outrage over the US impos8ng sanctions on Russia, in fact they have helped by freezing government owned bank accounts in thier country.

And not that the US has restarted the second fleet, Russia has more worries.
