question about trading

im new in trading and i choose bittrex after monitoring the market that all coines are related to btc if it go up they go up and down they go down
 i see it is not safe to keep my money in eth or btc   coz the market is not stable at all and i can lose a lot of money i want to trad in usdt market to be safe what do you think

i can give a order sell in case the price go down and get my money in usdt 

i hope im asking right question   not stupid one
