I have the funds to buy stuff but cant pm anyone because of some etiquette rules which would have been valid in the early 90's. Who doesn't know forum etiquette in 2013? Frustrating...

Just get some conversation going, the rules go quicker than one would think.  It will be up before you know it and you'll be posting and buying all over these forums!  Smiley

Apparently it's to stop spammers from taking over the forums. I think it is pretty annoying Sad

There are still plenty of people who haven't a clue and post questions that've been covered 100s of times even.

Never really understood why people don't search first since they'd have the answer most of the time. It has some perks though, can't post in the marketplace yet so at least i can't spend anymore money! :p

we do get enough spam in PM's to begin with even with the rules in place. Annoying, but I think better for the community.

its very frustrating. especially having to wait like 6 minutes between posts. it takes forever to get anything done.

they put restrictions on newbie forum members that make it difficult to get things answered. only being able to post in part of the forum, 1 message per 6 minutes, time waits between forum searches, etc. it's a real pain in the ass.
