Yeah I'd say that's a given with the vacuum-sealing, but most people tend to believe its dog-proof as well.  That's a dangerous misconception to entertain.

Receiving mail from Canada is also fairly routine but then again so is receiving the occasional piece of mail from the Netherlands or the UK.  There are ingenius stealth methods out there these days, there are some who even profited heavily on the original SR selling their own original stealth formulas.

As long as there's prohibition there will always be ingenious people trying to capitalise on this by creating inventive ways to ship things, but they'll never be 100% safe. Vacuum packing isn't going to stop xrays as well, so I think people who believe they're safe with it are just being naive, and as you say, it's a dangerous misconception to entertain, but that's sometimes the price you pay for naivety and ignorance.

Now at SilkRoad2.0 will be just ppl who want to be caught or want to screw someone.

Wrong, it's already thriving. DPR just successfully overcame a long DDoS attack by seizing the attacker's db. I'm sure he had help but it's a milestone.  Business as usual for SR at the moment.

Hopefully the new DPR wont be as foolish as the old one.

Some speculate that this DPR is the original, the one who agreed to be bought out by Ross Ulbricht several years ago after he created the first SR.  He was reputed to be much more low-key.

Was there definitely an original, or was that just something he put out there as misinformation?

There was a definitely a guy who turned the whole operation over to him, to Ross Ulbricht.  Nothing is known about him really, only that he became wealthy very quickly and allowed Ulbricht to inherit the mantle of DPR, with all the risks it carries.  His writing style is much different from Ross'.  There's a pretty stark contrast in the writing styles of DPR when SR debuted and the DPR who started doing the announcements/site addresses a little over a year later, maybe 12-16 months later.  The first DPR conveyed a more thoughtful, philosophical, even a somewhat a more pacifist way of explaining SR's purpose and continued existence in the face of constant persecution.  He conveyed the characteristics of martyrdom to the cause without explicitly stating as much. Ross Ulbricht a DPR wasn't very subtle with the way he wrote, he was flashy and was constantly talking shit about other markets, about how SR was superior etc. This has been documented to some extend in the SR forums.  I haven't looked there recently for any updates, but I'd imagine there's been some developments since I checked it out last.   Does Ross know who DPR #1 is? It's hard to say.  If he does it'll come out during trial but he may have never even met this guy in person.

I don't think the original DPR has come out of retirement though.  I've paid attention to all the site addresses and announcements so far and the guy is not eloquent with the way he writes at all.  He seems a little stupid to me, his grammar sometimes isn't on point, it's really weird.  Sometimes what he writes sounds somewhat normal. Other times its like there's a completely different person giving updates. It seems like a third-party/parties running the place to me, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

The change or writing styles could be on purpose though to fool authorities. When DPR was caught he had a Stylometry site bookmarked:

I still doubt whether the DPR 2.0 is the same as DPR 1.0. If it is later proven that it is so, what will happen to Ross Ullbricht?

probably the same thing? he just won't get full credit for being DPR.. but just part of the organization consisting of multiple members.

I see the future.. SR 2.0, 3.0, 4.5...etc DPR 2.0, 3.0, 4.0... it will never end.

Also, can someone verify that link? I've never gotten it to load...

There is no problem with the link. Use the TOR Broswer and you'll be able to use it. I just logged in to it, like 30 seconds ago.

This is true. The new DPR even claimed that if the site is ever taken down it'll be back up an running quickly, although obviously only time will tell on this. Hopefully these black market sites will force governments to consider legalisation and regulation. The war on drugs is futile and everybody with a gram of sense knows it.

Link not loading on Tor for me today, either.

Has never loaded, apart from a very brief spell last night.

Does anybody have an idea of why this might be?

I know how to use tor, but this particular site just will not load. DDoS?

Silk road has always done that from what I hear. I went looking once for fun and couldn't get in, but it worked a few days later. Can't say I've been back, and BTC was $70 then.

Please DO NOT send me private messages asking for help setting up GPU miners. I will not respond!!!
